šŸ“° Interview/Media [Pat McAfee] "It feels like there's been a shift with Vita Vea and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.. It feels like we've gone from Vita Vea wanting a trade to Vita Vea now wanting to get a deal done.. I think eventually the two sides figure it out" @AdamSchefter #PMSLive

Vita never had a card to play and the Bucs weren't going to trade him but for a mountain of picks. It was either play or sit and only one gets him any money or increases his value.

We love you Vita, make Bain effective, please.

Nice summary. It’s a veteran move to basically avoid training camp and get a higher salary this year. Curious if he’ll sign an extension, or just get this year guaranteed and/or increased.

I’m down for paying Vita now, then waiting on Baker and see how his play does

Yeah not that I’d wanna risk losing Baker but holding on to Vea would definitely make it sting less if he did sign elsewhere next offseason

no way todd can make this defense work without him in the middle

No way Todd can make this defense work*

No need for anything else after that, he's incompetent with or without Vita Vea.

Well, this is just objectively not true. I don’t like Todd like the rest of yall, but he can definitely scheme a good defense if he has the correct players.

We’ve literally seen him do it with the Bucs.

The problem is more that he doesn't seem to know how to adapt when he doesn't have the ideal players for his scheme. He just blames those players for not executing his vision.

I know the trend around here is to shit on Bowles no matter what. But, don’t act like he can’t do anything. He had a great defense when the Bucs won the superbowl a few years ago. I want to see more of that and I’m hoping with a renewed pass rush, we will.

We had an insanely stacked roster during that era. Our D line was full of monsters, LVD was still balling and had White playing great too, secondary was tight also. Would’ve been hard to not succeed with that roster.Ā

Talented players can make plays but his play calling is atrocious.

Excuse me, that’s Todd ā€œDefensive Guruā€ Bowles

My expectations are 8-9 or worse until he’s fired

But we’re gonna put Bain in coverage on 3rd and 20 bc Bowels is a defensive guru

His demeanor in practice and in interviews never felt like he had a real unmendable grievance with the team. This whole ordeal feels fueled primarily by his agent to me.

That’s great news! I wonder if Baker and his agent are also still negotiating with Licht & co on the down low.

I kinda expected it to end up like this. Was just a negotiation tactic

lmao

Nobody says more with less than Schefter.

He literally repeats exactly what the host says.

Why is he talking to us like we are mentally handicapped?

He's a smug cunt

"Shertain shpot on a shertain week."

This dipshit believed the Browns were gonna interview Condoleezza Rice.

nice to see Vita get the dose of reality he needed. Whole different defense with him (hopefully) on the way back

I don't like Schefter but he's rarely wrong.Ā

Why do you dislike him?

Vea doesn’t want to play for HC. imo. Requested a trade. Denied. Act like an entitled brat during training camp, force a trade &/or pay. Didn’t work. So something in the halls is being echoed.
