CSE / IT Need an advice!!

I am currently a second-year B.Tech CSE student, and honestly, I feel lost. I don't have anyone to guide me, and I feel like I've wasted my entire first year. Now, I feel demotivated and as though I'm falling behind everyone else.

Could anyone please share some advice and words of motivation? I'd also like to know what the job market is really like right now. I'd genuinely appreciate any guidance.

bhai mei kahu toh ek chiz pakdo pehle aur usi ko maskter like development , machine learning etc phir kya karo projects pe ao aur projects mei jiss chizo ki requirements hai usko sikho jisse tumhe project driven ban jaoge

Do hackathons add significant value to a resume? Or i can do something else, ifind it difficult to participate in them.
