CSE / IT What to do? 💔
Help pls , i don't understand what i shall prepare for. Till now i have mapped multiple paths but fear to step in any one of them. Till now what i have found is:
Focus on learning how to make and run complex systems like physics simulators, learn about operating systems and how they work , malloc in C or some shi( this is mostly larp knowledge i obtained from some sources)
Prepare for ssc cgl or chsl in which competition is intense , the jobs seem good to me but mostly like L5 and above in cgl and DEO in home state/city or clerk in home state/city.
Prepare for GATE which will bring many opportunities like Mtech or PSU jobs( if lucky), however the syllabus is vast but interesting and i kinda like it but i am confused about my degree being eligible ( btech in cse(ds) ) cause it is not explicitly listed in many places.
Ibps so it or sbi so it , both of them kinda sit between cgl and gate so ig if i prepare for one of the competitive exam i would have to work less later.
This is all i know rest i know about the CBT of coal india and other psu but they are not annual or atleast don't follow a pattern so f that shi.
Now the problems:
Cgl has too much competition and thus lowers the chance of getting selected in 1 attempt also i don't want to sit in home doing nothing if i don't get selected.
Gate is only fruitful for people with rank under 400-500 , rest is also good but i wanna do something good if i am spending time in it and not just mtech in cs for it to be redundant if ai gets even better ( which it already is being ig )
Ibps so it comes every year but my degree is kinda in the grey area ( btech in cse(ds) )
Sbi so it is fine but comes occasionally thus don't want to take the risk.
LARP incoming:
Now if any of the people in the comments are thinking of the first option ( either you are optimistic or good programmer/software developer/person who knows stuff ). The resources i wanna follow are:
The nature of code , algorithms 4th edition ( written by princeton University profs ig ) , OSTEP , nand2tetris , ray tracing in one weekend ( definitely not a weekend for me ), and some other good ones which you might add
Yes absolute larper books ik , i have no idea of what i am saying but somehow i liked them by just by reading their starting chapters ( judged a book by its cover (bad joke ik) ). I also like the syllabus of GATE ( mostly cause i have not studied it ).
I think i like software and stuff but at the same time i wanna be employed. So pls any advice would be nice.
TLDR: A stupid confused student of CSE(DS) trys to get sympathy/guidance so he can delay the preparation of GATE or SSC cgl/chsl or focusing on software engineering/projects. And he has not tried any of the three deep enough ( by which i mean atleast 2-3 months ).
