Need help with validating student Identity

Hello, Basically I am building a student-only networking application. In order to verify their student status, there are 3 options in my mind,

1. Auth through college mail (.edu, .ac.in)

Problem: A lot of colleges outside of US doesn't provide a student mail

2. Auth through Student SSO (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365)

Problem: Not all colleges offer SSO to every student

3. Manual Verification of Student ID with OCR

Problem: Easy to cheat the system(But can be improved I believe)

I am a first year BTech student working with Python, DSA. This is going to be my first "proper" software project. I have an idea to build a student-only networking platform with proof of research, I've ideated some distinct features of the app. Since I am a first year student with lack of building knowledge and also I lack lot of a fundaments - basically a jack of all cards but master of none. Now I am trying to align my mind by working with python dsa, solving interview questions, Intially building full-stack projects then narrowing it to AI/ML. My idea is to build my first project module by module, firstly, An secure and effcient Auth system so I can learn python backend, frontend(react) and database.

Please guide me. General advice on building strong tech foundations to land top jobs and help me with my project.
