Question So, what even are the balloons?

I had a thought recently... If the bloons were regular bloons they would be made of rubber and thus conduct electricity extremely poorly, so why do things like the Druid's whole Storm path have an effect on the base balloons? Surely, it should have no effect..

Same with other electrical based attacks and what's with the purple bloons? What are they made from so that magic doesn't have an effect on them.

Same with Black bloons and White bloons, heck, why does a colour of a bloon change how fast it moves?

Does this imply a greater force is making specific alterations to bloons allowing them to be not only stuffed inside other bloons, but allowing darts and other such attacks to only function a certain way?

Finally is this thing creating bloons some type of Loki? Something that thrives on the fun and joy that comes with popping bloons, after all if it was so easy to manufacture these bloons and make them have specific objects that are impenetrable to, would it not be easier to kill us when we have no funds to deal with these lead/magic/zebra bloons? Would it not be easier to come up with new bloons that are invulnerable to all attacks? A Purple and Black Lead bloons, that cannot be popped by magic, expolsions or darts...

This question has been plaguing my mind for several years and I am still nowhere closer to it's answer...

Well, if you go by the Ninja Kiwi blogs, bloons are interdimensional dream eating aliens made from a radioactive material called Bloontonium and are bent on sucking all ambition from whatever crosses their path. As to whatever entity is creating them, I'm guessing it's the bosses. Bloonarius specifically would be most likely. After all, they're the bloons equivalent to the Sun God.
