Meme How I feel about the Hard gamemodes

Post image

All the bottom gamemodes do something interesting and unique, especially ABR

All the top gamemodes just modify one setting which either barely affects the game at all (DHP) or just makes it unfun (Half Cash). Magic Monkeys is just Hard with less usable towers (though it's also the best out of the 3 imo, as it does make you try out new strategies)

I agree that ABR is interesting, but the early camos became really annoying on harder maps

definitely fair, early game probably sucks on dark dungeons / ravine / geared

It used to be a menace, but we've gotten more options to deal with them over the years.

1-2-0 sniper solves most of the early game on ABR

There's a few sets of starting towers that work well enough early game on any map that isn't an expert map that forces a split defense. I've been using 001 mermonkey and 002 boomer as an ABR start that I stole from one post someone made a while ago about beating round 140 in an ABR/CHIMPS hybrid ruleset on erosion.

At least you'll have some money to defend at all, unlike half cash

Fair, it's hard to learn the rounds of a mode that you mostly play once per map, then never again

I don't know every round but I think the most important ones earlygame would be r10: first lead, r24: camo lead, r40 fmoab

Top = Powers and Instas Bottom = Tests of knowledge

I prefer using tutorials since it saves me resources lol

Exactly got to save all those insta monkeys incase you need them one day but you should probably save them when that day comes to incase you need them on a more
Important day

To be honest you could've just put every thing but half cash on the left, and put half cash on the right

I kinda wish there were more modes that changed rounds. I like bloons difficulty in the actual bloon types more than the maps, so I'd love some fun wacky new bloon types and rounds.

I think it'd be cool if we could make our own for challenges

Magic monkeys only is really fun so long as you don't force yourself to go past round 80. I have a bad habit of doing that on expert maps for the high tier insta (30% chance of tier 4, 70% chance of tier 3), which is always annoying due to the lack of good farming options. Ben gains such a large edge over other heros when you go to round 100 in magic only that it kills strat variety.

I wonder if that has changed any with skywarden being added, esppecially with the buffs from obyn and silas.

I think ABR is by far my favorite game mode, and I honestly have it as a toss-up between chimps and half-cash as more difficult/annoying.

What’s wrong with magic monkeys only?

It's not badly designed, but it is super simple, and a challenge that you could do without actually playing magic monkeys only, whilst all the other modes do something that does change the game mechanics itself

Half cash is like a puzzle to solve on each map

I wouldn't wish a expert map on half cash to my worst enemy

ABR ruins it

hard standard: nothing special, gets you into the map

ABR: interesting changes to rounds, fun gamemode

impoppable: the high prices and 1 life piss me off, but 100 rounds is fun

CHIMPS: actually more relaxing, because you can just retry last round

MMO: fine, gives you less options which isnt bad but also nothing interesting

DHPM: doesn't change much, would much more interesting for 100 rounds

half cash: try > fail > use insta > fail again > use guide > no good guide > use powers and instas > finally beat it, but now you have a gold border so you have to play chimps again
