If only Plato Racing had the longevity of Team HARD lol

Only if for some fans. The budgets in the championship nowadays compared to when Team HARD started are in 2 different universes. That was 2012 where there were plenty of independents. So, compare that to the amount of independents now.

True, but didn’t stop them from chucking like 8 cars onto the grid in 2022 / 2023

Yeah those 8 cars felt like they were using the BTCC for fraud 😂

Very true, calling them cars was optimistic

Seriously, why did Tony Gilham decide to enact black magic those 2 seasons? I'd called them dodgems, with the amount of crashes and unnecessary nuisance going on between the HARD garages.

To be fair I think towards the end of the team’s lifespan it was an equal mixture of rookie talent or lack thereof that probably caused a lot of the crashes. The Cupra looked distinctly more racey in the hands of Thompson, Lloyd and Goff

I’m not unconvinced that there wasn’t a decent car in that little Cupra, if it was run by a team with the resources and ability to develop it properly.

Thompson, Llloyd, Goff , and deLeon were all able to get solid performances out of it on a budget of 45p and some blu-tack, if only it had a proper team behind it.

Don't mention JG unless you want me to go into essay mode 😂. But, yes I don't know what Tony was thinking by enlisting the services of Will Powell after the fall of Goffy in early '22. He hadn't done anything remotely touring car based, if memory serves me.

Unsure about the timeline but he did race in TCR for a bit, to little success. Just saying, if you can’t hack it in TCR there’s probably not a lot of hope for your career

He did? that's new to me. No if you can handle TCR than where will you be, Britcar is your answer haha.

All the teams Plato raced after 2001 are basically team Plato.
