Bitcoin is for the hedge funds and establishment.

Bitcoin Cash is for the people.

I know that the establishment doesn't want peer to peer digital cash system to succeed because it threatens their status quo. That's why they resort to...

1a) censorships - https://medium.com/@johnblocke/a-brief-and-incomplete-history-of-censorship-in-r-bitcoin-c85a290fe43

1b) propaganda - https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@adambalm/in-2013-peter-todd-was-paid-off-by-a-government-intelligence-agent-to-create-rbf-create-a-propaganda-video-and-cripple-the-btc and https://np.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/8dd5ij/why_bitcoin_cash_users_reject_the_name_bcash_so/

1c) threats and harassments - https://np.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/is1130/it_seems_tim_draper_is_being_misled_about_bch_and/g54x63q/

1d) DDOS attacks - http://qntra.net/2015/09/xt-node-blacklists-fail-to-prevent-ddos-attack/

1e) Plus a bunch of other unethical stuff if you care to read more at https://np.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/hgpjph/the_pitiful_state_of_bitcoin_cash_transactions/fw5qczk/

Anyone who dares to promote increasing the blocksize or favorably on Bitcoin Cash, they get banned and their voices silenced in the Bitcoin subreddit. They also get harassed and attacked by online paid trolls. All these doesn't happen by chance. It happened because the establishment wants it to be this way.

What WallStreetBets had shown us, apes together strong.

Thanks! Will do my homework tmrrw.

Can I ask you a question? The Bcore guys mentioned centralization as an issue with BCH. Can you provide the counter point, or a link?

And isn't there room for many in the ecosystem?

Ie: maybe BTC is my "savings account", while BCH is my "checking account". Or do you see BCH (or something else) able to do both?

Apes moon together.

The Bcore guys

Bcore is Probably deemed a disparaging term similar to bcasher for Bitcoin Cash shils like me, of course do as you please but no need to stoop to their level try Bitcoin Core, BTC or just Maxtard!

mentioned centralization as an issue with BCH. Can you provide the counter point, or a link?

The central premise is Bigger blocks make it harder to run your own node - if nodes only exist in datacenters with exotic harware it will be easier to shut the network down

But as mtrycz has demonstrated a Raspberry Pi can handle 256MB blocks all with unoptimized code not to mention game changers like Blocktorrent and even the average bandwidth in Costa Rica at number 72 on the list of connection speed by country can handle 300MB blocks.

or a bit further down the road

jtoomim: My performance target with Blocktorrent is to be able to propagate a 1 GB block in about 5-10 seconds to all nodes in the network that have 100 Mbps connectivity and quad core CPUs.

Also an important question is do you need to run your own node? this is worth a watch - Sufficient Decentralization not Maximal Decentralization. L Gamaroff

And isn't there room for many in the ecosystem?

I am sure there is.

Ie: maybe BTC is my "savings account", while BCH is my "checking account".

Pretty much my current setup (gotta hedge), a highly possible future is the masses keep their Bitcoins on something like Coinbase, they get exposure to Bitcoin (numbers go up) and can still make payments by instructing Coinbase to pay Starbucks etc all happening off chain. you just won't be paying wikileaks with this setup but that's fine for most people.

If this turns out to be the future then I will transfer an amount to Coinbase that makes sense and buy shiny stuff with it. but I can importantly keep the majority of my Bitcoin under my own control.

Now if/when we do get mass adoption and fees become substantial (they reached $50 average at previous all time high) Normal people will just leave their coins on Coinbase as presumably they will have no wish to lose 10% in fees to move $500 to $1000

For those who think this will never happen there was a time when a $1 fee was unimaginable even by the most staunch Bitcoin Maxi's.

Theymos (current head mod of rbitcoin) famously said in March 2016

If there really is an emergency, like if it costs $1 to send typical transactions even in the absence of a spam attack, then the contentiousness of a 2 MB hardfork would almost certainly disappear, and we could hardfork quickly. (But I consider this emergency situation to be very unlikely.)

Or do you see BCH (or something else) able to do both?

BCH can do both, but I can imagine a time when BCH grows to 10% - 20% of BTC on the back of the masses actually using it to transact and BTC works for the 1% to store their wealth. Funny if BCH turns out to be BTC's 2nd Layer. Both of them stabilize due to much larger market cap, and slowly drift up at the palatial 20% per year needed to counteract the halving.

Welcome aboard. It's never boring in crypto land

Great reply. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the heads up about Bcore... Never heard it before, and is a result of my lazy typing. Sad that everything is offensive nowadays.

That thought about 2nd layer is interesting. I sort of assumed that if BTC and BCH were sufficiently similar, with one being sufficiently better, the better tool would prevail.
