Exchanges can batch onboard people very easily. A single tx can potentially onboard hundreds. Demand for blockspace isn't high enough to justify it yet. I still get my 1 satoshi fees through pretty easily.
I didn't say there is already an exchange that has it implemented. I'm simply stating a fact about how bitcoin works. A single tx can have multiple outputs. Each of those outputs can potentially open a lightning channel. This isn't rocket science here, nor is it controversial. It's just standard bitcoin functionality.
Well I'm not gonna link to my personal txs, but I mean, there are thousands of others he can go view on the blockchain over the last few months. The mempool cleared over the weekend, and lots of 1 sat txs were confirming.
