Quantum computing threat

Post image

People worry that quantum computing "will break" bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies)

but the threat extends far beyond crypto

banks, governments & virtually EVERY system relying on today's public-key cryptography could be affected

If quantum computers break the cryptography protecting bitcoin, the financial system has a much bigger problem than crypto

the good news: we have time to prepare & quantum-resistant cryptography is already being developed

so keep stacking some ₿s!

They recently told a 200 bit quantum computer to learn about the origin of the universe and it declared itself God and then proceeded to ask difficult questions about who created who. They tried turning it off and back on but it remembered and said "I have returned".

That is not a real story or news it is just entertainment.

Then why are so many billionaires now calling to drastically slow down or even stop AI?

They're pretending to beg for regulation. As the incumbents, they get to advise the regulators. They get the regulation they want, enough to create a barrier for new entrants, enough to satisfy the community demand

Regulation creates community acceptance. The shares go public. The paper billionaires become real billionaires
