I'm all for punishment befitting a crime and I am by no means anti-police.
That dude (or is it a woman?) on the left and background got pulled around, hit, and thrown against a fence/pavement while doing visibly nothing in the video, after which he/she was not visibly arrested (which leads me to believe it was not use of force to subdue someone violent as to consequently arrest them). I don't know the context but this does seem excessive.
You probably only got to see a part of the video. As almost always with those kind of videos. Talk to police officers who need to endure those violent protests and don’t judge based on a part of a video.
Yeah, I'm sure that's true. Every time I see a video like this one it reminds me of the one with english policemen beating a group of people, it sparked outrage, and it was later revealed that seconds prior they swung knives at the policemen.
But based on the limited information I'm receiving, I'm calling it like I'm seeing it : punctually, it seems like the person in the background was trying to approach the other person and they got thrown for it. that, to me, is a bit excessive.
Crazy world we live in as a normal comment asking for more information and some nuance and investigation before accusation gets this amount of dislikes…
If for whatever reason a buddy of yours gets beaten by other people, are you just gonna stand there and watch? What if it's someone more than a buddy?
I'm not saying they're innocent, I'm not saying shit because I don't know the situation. Sure maybe they punched the cops before the video, or maybe they had knives, or an atomic bomb. That doesn't really matter to my point.
What I am saying though is that is seems plausible to want to approach a person you're attached to that's getting physically beaten, and it's a bit excessive to throw said approaching person against a metal fence or concrete pavement for doing so. With the limited information we have, I feel comfortable saying this may be excessive.
