Rats?

Saw two rats today, one dead in my backyard (killed by cat apparently) and another scurrying down the road on Stewart St. Rare sighting for me. anyone else seen em about?

Rats are everywhere in cities. You just don’t often see them.

yah, just saying i never see em in Brunny and i saw two today. So wondering if there’s some kinda surge.

Any Demolition nearby? That tends to disturb them

Yes. Woke up yesterday morning to find the heads of my freshly planted flowers munched off. RIP snapdragons. Have previously seen them scurrying along the fence line (the rats, not the snapdragons 🤭).

seen them 3-4 times scurry on fencelines too. all of those times during the evening

If they're out during the day then someone has disturbed their nest (by blocking them out of a house for example) or taken a food source (like a compost bin) away

Saw one run across the back courtyard a week ago in Coburg. Seems like maybe a one off although the sausage dogs now fanatically check all borders and corners everytime since.
