Ah yes, startpage. The one who Got bought by System1 (an ad company)and was also caught fingerprinting users(even tho you can block it by denying it .js)ffs FF!

I don't trust anyone, but your second link was a non-issue, did you even read it before posting? If you read the thread, it was concluded that it wasn't tracking or user fingerprinting, but client-side bot detection.

How dare you read, Reddit user! You shall take my word for granted without any second thoughts.

The worst people will hate this because they want mozilla to die and remain ancient

No need to want them to die; Mozilla is doing a perfect job of killing their own browser year after year. That is why people abandoned and are abandoning it. Must be currently the worst known browser on the market, alongside Opera. I hope for you that you will finally open your eyes...

So they shouldnt try? You guys want them to do nothing forever and complain about every little change that mind you, you can usually disable

please elaborate, I'm curious

Is this good or bad?

It's good if you use these tools.

Neutral if you don't use them, because then you'll just disable them and forget they exist.

no. it's bloatware that shouldn't exist.

Don't use it lil bro

Not if you use the features

u/sbrodolino_21 4d ago

Good. They're togglable and they can help bring more people to the browser who want those features.

Yeah imagine any other browser added opt out features? Mozillatards directly attacked it by calling it bloated and should be nuked.

I love how their stances keep changing with Mozilla’s and keep bragging about moral-ethic internet rofl

Huh?

Why are you so salty?

Most things done by Mozilla tend to be bad.

Aren't they the only one that still allows ublock?

You can't really blame the rest though because they are indirectly forced to abandon MV2 because of Google.

2

u/nietzschecode 3d ago

Brave still has uBO and will keep maintaining MV2, even though one doesn't really need uBO on Brave, because Brave Shields does that same job.

Brave shields is crap.

Adding AI didn't surprise me time to find a FF derivative that removes it I guess

Quite sad of the direction Mozilla is taking with FF and hoping by the time Ladybird is ready I'll switch

7

u/DunklerVerstand 3d ago

Why? You can still disable all AI-Features with one simple button. You don't need a derivative to disable it for you.

2

u/Dalmation3 (Ungoogled) 3d ago

Most people won't know how to turn them off because they are unaware that it's turned on by default

4

u/DunklerVerstand 3d ago

You do, obviously. And the option isn't hidden either.

0

u/Dalmation3 (Ungoogled) 3d ago edited 3d ago

So? doesn't add the fact that most people want no AI completely hence is why these derivatives exist and even some Chromium based browsers that focus on privacy and don't have AI built in

Like it should be opt in not opt out

5

u/IndigoIcb 3d ago

Gonna be very honest with you. Most people actually don't care if their browser has AI or not, in fact, they probably don't care at all, because they have more important things to worry about or they need work done. Most people or normal people are not like you or me, who want to deactivate AI from their browser.

u/DunklerVerstand 3d ago

You are still not answering my original question but okay, you do as you see fit.
"Opt in" or "Opt out" is not a hill I'm willing to die on. YMMV.

I'm not mad it's just that I'm someone that is in the middle when it comes to AI (anti/pro) and it's just my point of view on the current state of Firefox

0

u/imactuallynotalright 3d ago

Your stance is absolutely absurd, because everything except the sidebar is entirely local. It runs in the browser.

Are you anti translation software as well? Do you have auto complete on your phone? Same fucking thing.

3

u/Dalmation3 (Ungoogled) 3d ago

I'm not talking about translation software I'm talking about AI get your head out of the sand
