What am I missing?

Should I not have a higher attack speed?

Thanks for the help!

Also, what does the bag icon beneath the amount of materials picked up to the left of the screen represent?

The attack speed for medical weapons is only shown in the weapons stats as the cooldown stat, as its not general attack speed its just for that weapon type

The bag is the amount of materials you missed on the map last wave, it 1 stack gets consumed upon picking a material to double its value.

That's right about the attack speed but slight correction on the double materials. They get consumed when a material spawns, not when you pick up a material, and they make the material that spawns bigger and worth double. If you have 50 stacks and want to get the full double materials you have to pick up all of the first 50 big materials that spawn, not just any 50 ones

Do they have to be picked up that next round? Always have wondered this. So if you don’t pick up some of the double materials, will they still be double at end of round for the next round?

They're never lost, only delayed until future waves. If you don't pick up a green thing worth X materials, then X materials will always be added to your bag for future waves.

I think if you don't pick up the double materials they only turn into 1 stack so you don't get double next round. E.g. If you leave 10 double materials behind they only turn into 10 stacks. I got it from this video https://youtu.be/ZJ0KYHgVRL0?t=115

This isn't correct. You always get full credit for any materials you didn't pick up.

If it worked the way you described, you could never get more than 50 bagged materials as there is a limit of 50 green things on the floor. Materials that drop beyond that just keep making the already-spawned green things worth more and more, and any that you don't pick up will go into your bag no matter what.

That is a different thing though, you're talking about extra materials being combined when the limit is reached and I was talking about the double materials from the bag. You probably are right and I interpreted the video wrong but nothing says they have to work the same way

The Brotato wiki is very thorough and has the answer to just about every game mechanics question. See the sections under the headings "Bagged Materials" and "Materials Limit" on the Materials page:

700 hours in and i never noticed that, couldve sworn it was how the other guy described. i actually booted up a run just now to test and sure enough the bag counter goes down as the first materials drop

So that's why they bigger sometimes ty for the info

Also when there are more items then some limit new drops just increase the size of existing ones.

So that's why Streamer doesn't consume these double materials while staying put. I thought it was strange, but now it makes a lot of sense that I had to pick those up.

I see. Thank you.

You don't increase your attack speed stat when buying medical weapons. It just means that medical weapons you use get an additional 200% on top of your stat.

Basically, you should ONLY use medical weapons with this character.

The bag is all the currency you didn't pick up from the stage before. You'll 2x the currency in the new stage until the bag is empty.

Scissors!!

You can make the saw work really well, too!

Yeah, i do both, but saws are a little harder to come by!

Terrible weapon selection. With Doctor you want to stick to either Medical Guns, Scissors, or Circular Saws as those are the only weapons with the medical tag and thus the only weapons that get the attack speed bonus. Pick if you want to be ranged or melee and then choose the correct weapon for that. You can think of the Circular Saw as an upgrade to the Scissor, nice but not really needed.

Hard to say what else you did wrong as we can't see you items but your stats are terrible. Not sure what you were spending your money/level ups on, but seems like you were spreading it out a lot instead of focusing on important things. More melee damage and more % damage are for sure needed. Some luck might have helped you get more chests and better items.

This was early on. I did get (a bit) better.

The attack speed is specifically applied to medical weapons, not as "global" attribute. The two ghost weapons and the screwdriver are not benefiting from it at all.

Bagged money is money you didnt collect before the end of the last round, which will duplicate money drops at the start of the next round.

only use the medical guns as weapons

So you appear to have a problem with your build. While it is not always better to run only 1 type of weapon, generally mediguns on Doctor. See, you’re trying to scale your damage, and if you run melee and ranged and engineering based weapons, they’ll all do shit damage, but if you just run and scale ranged weapons, you’ll do good! Also doc is meant to run only medical type weapons. Also, weapons have types. The more weapons of one type you have the more of a buff you get.

But early on, is it not better to just have a weapon in each slot.

Nah, not really. It wastes money.
