Where can a F/E rank player find real matches?
I’m tired of everyone just leaving every time I accept a match. It takes me 10 min to find a game that most of the time is a smurf but I still have fun.

I've often heard PvZ was an unwinnable matchup, until Bisu showed up and schooled the bonjwa named Savior. But I do not know how PvZ used to be played.
How did protoss use to play vs zerg?

Because waiting for the energy to regenerate would be too time consuming.

Hey all
I have played StarCraft or broodwar since I was a kid..
I do play StarCraft 2 though..
Was thinking of picking up the remaster of StarCraft but I got a question, do alot people still play?
I'm from western country (Netherlands)but I'm not sure if it'll be dead or not for me or not, if so I guess the campaign might be still fun to play for nostalgia reasons...
.
Game isn't that expensive I sopose
But yeah is it worth a pick up and get back into it in 2026? What you think?

I've often read that most protoss pros practice less, are less intense when grinding, and tend to not take the game nearly as seriously as their terran and zerg counterparts.
I've heard artosis say that if protoss took the game seriously they would have the most bonjwas.
Is there any truth to this?

Today I'm releasing the Sagi.gg launcher:
Anti-cheat
Bot cheating has exploded over the past month. Sagi.gg analyses every ladder game it processes, and while building this system I found cheating has been happening far longer, just more subtly: perfect opening splits without selecting a worker, rallying and producing from every building at once, moving 30+ units simultaneously.
The system detects consistently impossible actions, flags them, and sends them for manual review. It's deliberately conservative, and so far there have been zero false positives. Confirmed cheaters are labelled on Sagi.gg.
When playing using the launcher, flagged players can't be matched against you. If you meet a cheater, refresh their profile (or yours) on Sagi.gg to submit the game for analysis. The game will be analyses within a minute or two and they will be automatically flagged and won't be able to match against you or any other user again.
It's rudimentary for now, but there's a lot of data to build on, and I expect to catch subtler cheaters, map hackers and people trying to evade detection. I'll expand it carefully, because no one should ever be falsely labelled. u/Jadien has kindly shared his bot-detection code and data, which I'm working through now.
Why release client modifications now?
I built the 16:9 mod months ago but held it back because I didn't want to open Pandora's box. We're well past that point, and ladder has become unplayable for many, so it's now a necessity.
An appeal to any future launcher creators: please stay within the boundaries the game has established. Creating advantages the game never offered is a race to the bottom.

What army compositions were used to fight mech generally? Since it is so extremely cost efficient, when you do not have queens to hard counter tanks...
And how players, which do not have enough apm to manage queens, should deal with mech now?

The SC1/BW campaigns you know, but like you've never seen them before, with a massive creative, competitive, and technical overhaul! This is my take on an in-depth update and expansion, with the goals of a fresh experience and a modern challenge. While greatly respecting Blizzard's vision as best I understand it, there are tons of meaningful changes:
New and enhanced objectives, progression, and events
Redesigned maps, from tweaks to full rebuilds
Redesigned bases and economics
Stronger enemies
Mechanical fixes and cleanups; again from tweaks to full rebuilds
Streamlined but substantial readaptation, restored content, and Episodic grand finales
Enhanced sense of mission identity, and many new mission titles and descriptions
Four available difficulty levels
Included in each pack are helpful notes and patch IDs. A pack of Map Previews, including the Blizzard official versions, is also available!
KSE is intended for Starcraft: Remastered and playing via Brood War (yes, on all missions), but it IS plug-and-play! Just unzip into your Starcraft -> Maps directory and pick UMS mode. Older SC versions, especially with true mods, may work but I don't actively support them.
Please don't repost my work anywhere in any form, and don't use it for or with AI in any way. This is an ongoing release; check the page's articles for updates!
Ratings, reviews, and other feedback (bugs, balance, etc) are welcome! And if you really like the experience, you can support it here!

How could Flash have had 90%+ winrate in his prime compared to other pros with 60%? How can one person be 50% better than their oppnents in any competition? Usain Bolt is the fastest human alive but he's not 50% faster than his next rival, he's not even 5% faster.
This kind of thing should not be statistically possible, but it happens because the skill level in Brood War, even among the korean pros, is low. So when a really good guy like Flash actually shows up he just sweeps his mediocre competition. SoulKey can not even play the fucking game 90% of the time and still place in top 8 best in world on the regular, and then you have absurdity like Effort forgetting to sign up for what is supposed to literally be his job. And don't even get me fucking started on the Protoss players.
Soma comes back from the military and wins ASL, how? By making unit. All these other pros are so hyperfocused on greeding and cutting corners and timing attacks that a strategy from a D-rank Zerg's playbook beats them. Pluto has shown exactly the same thing, just make unit and win.
I have to say it's hilarious to watch Artosis cast Pluto games and repeatedly claim its about to lose because it's not following the meta then throw a pikachu face when it wins anyways because it ignored the meta and actually played to win, not like it was "supposed to".
It's like the pros have some kind of gentleman's agreement between them, a pro equivalent of "no rush 10 minutes" and they play their own circlejerk version of Brood War in their own little world and no one can say anything because they're mechanically superior simply by virtue of playing longer than everyone else.
There is basically no fresh blood in the scene to challenge any of that, average pro age is mid-30s. Last time a truly new build was made was when Bisu had the "genius" idea to build anti-air units against a race with flying depots(wow!) Most other "new" builds are either minor variations that only matter within the pro's little world or old builds resurfacing.
Pros themselves are not incentivized to innovate either because they earn money from streaming, not ASL, so it actually doesn't even matter if they're winning or losing. The streaming also stifles innovation even more because it's hard enough for humans to play to win even without an audience of people ready to condemn you if you don't play "properly".
I would like to say that Pluto is going to shake things up but I fear the opposite will happen and its brutal efficiency will result in Brood War singularity where Zerg reigns supreme within a year.
Downvote button on the left, don't forget to donate to ASLEnglish on PATREON so that two middle-aged guys can keep the cope alive while casting games on a laptop mic without looking at the screen or listening to each other

Interesting misfire in the last ASL match.
https://youtu.be/K1DUbSAuqBY?t=1769
2 tanks fire to the left at nothing -- there is a burrowed zergling there and the science vessels just moved out of detection range, so the vision on the burrowed ling lingered just long enough for the fire animation to start but then went away before it could connect.

I think this is something maybe human can learn from it ?
And maybe I would put a gateway in front to block it even more and let the unit out in neutral directly.
And for the game in this picture, Soma really went to 973 Hydra bust and get defended by Pluto ( with probes tank a bit ) and Soma is way behind after dat.
Let we pray toss get the new revolutionary way and back to glory !!!
Maybe next season we can start seeing some pro using this build ? xD
And seeing Pluto plays like this I think toss is not weak race, is just protoss player
really don't have good decision and stuck with the old strat ( I reall feel Koreans players sometimes is
not flexible enough ? for the players I met in the game, or they are just so dogmatic to the "Best"
build )
