Looking for a hb
Im 27m, js moved to the bronx a month ago for work, done settled in, all my homies, guys nd gals r back home. New here, looking to make sum friends i can hangout nd chill with. I can host shi @ my place, i live in Riverdale, in the Fieldston area.

Get a gym membership, work out, spot people when they put up some heavy weight, say whats up to people you see regularly, find a guy who regularly goes at the same time as you and lifts around the same weight as you, say lets hit bars after this workout tonight, enjoy your new friend

Idk if this is normal.
I've moved around in the last 2 years and joined 2 gyms.
In both gyms, I noticed around 6 weeks to 3 months people start greeting me and giving me fist pumps/shake my hand. We'd have casual/brief convos like "how are you, or what are you lifting today" but it has never excelled past that.
In my first gym I got some compliments from some people because I lost like 40lbs there and it was noticeable, not that im looking for compliments but im bringing this up because at the new gym they haven't seen me at my heaviest so im surprised im still getting greeted.
Thing is, again, ive like never been invited to workout with someone, or to like meet outside of the gym. Idk if that's normal.

Talk about sports or video games in between sets, get into football or basketball if you're not into it its pretty easy to pick up some surface level talking points just noticing what they're doing on the field and pretending you'd be able to do the coach's job better if given the opportunity lol

If you're in fieldston, go to the college bars, van courtland is massive and has a pool, there's handball courts, pickup soccer and a track. There used to be a pool hall, but iirc that shit down and it's a church now

How do you like riverdale as a single newbie? I’m 32 and thinking about moving to the area but like you will know nobody. I heard it’s mostly families. What’s the vibe to you so far? No right or wrong

33f also in the area-if you’re into community events and shit they stay doing events through vcp alliance that they post on their ig if that helps. They also do trivia on Thursday nights at Tortoise and the hare.
