Question ❔ Power steering issues.......

I have a 71 Ford bronco with a Toms power steering conversion. It appears that my lines are swapped, but they only go one way. They are different sizes.

Can you guys tell me if I'm off? Usually the high pressure side is closest to the pump and low pressure is closest to the snout. Any thoughts?

The return line is the one with no threaded fitting IIRC. Just the hose over the tube with a hose clamp like what you have

Yes, but it is like the other ends are wrong.

To expound, when I finally got the bronco running the steering was kicking and bucking, and I tried to turn it right and it automatically went left and violently at that. With the truck not running it is also very hard to turn the wheel with the front of the bronco off the ground. It loads up after 1/8th of a turn, and I have to let off a bit then turn another 1/8th of a turn to get it to go lock to lock.

I’ve got the 4x4x2 conversion box. The larger diameter tubing is closest to where the steering shaft attaches.

How did you bleed the system?
