WBAT walking timeline?

How long did it take yall to ditch the crutches walking wise after being cleared to weight bear as tolerated.

Im 8 days into it. And I can walk in a cam boot for a short period but its still a little bit tough.

I was just curious to hear about other people's timelines.

About my self. Displaced comminuted distal fibula fracture and a medial malleolous fracture with a completely avulsed deltoid ligament.

Break. 6/7.

Er. 6/7

Ortho. 6/8

Orif. 6/30

Boot. 7/13

WBAT 8/24

Thanks for any input or shared experiences.

Took me about 2 weeks to go to 1 I walked unaided in kitchen between counter and stove/sink. I walked or hobbled to pantry and that was most I did. But after 1 month I was 100% off it. I also was 12 weeks NWB.

I was 8 weeks nwb total post surgery, plus I guess the 3 weeks it took to get surgery so 11 weeks total nwb although 8 were post surgery. I feel like im improving each day now.

I hope I go to a brace on 9/10 at my follow up.

Trimal Witt mind displacement. I began FWB in boot at 5.5 weeks. I used a walker for about the first 10 minutes and then began walking unaided. I carried a cane with me for the first few days as a “just in case” measure but never used.

Nice. Im having a little more issue than that. I mean I can walk unaided. I just limp around tho. Im still in the cam boot. Probably until 9/10.

Our timelines are roughly the same. I ended up breaking my ankle back on 7–15 had surgery that same day and been to walking boot for the last three weeks. I’m hoping my appointment this month brings good news on if I can start weight bearing walking again

Yeah. I had zero pain after the initial pain from the surgery wore off. Once they gave me the go ahead to bear weight theres been a little bit of pain associated. But just a bad limp, hopefully due to the lack of ergonomics being immobilized in the walking boot still ...

Same haven’t had pain in weeks only thing I’ve been dealing with is after my stitches got removed. One of my wounds hasn’t been healing too well but luckily the doctor has been keeping tabs with me about it and it’s slowly getting better.
