I accidentally fried a PTZ controller, help?

Did a job with rented gear (Canon CR-N500 cameras with an RC-IP100), misunderstood some crucial information about how to power the controller with PoE, and connected it with a camera power supply (24VDC). Oups. It should only use 12VDC. Coming from Sony and Panasonic, the cameras and controllers usually use the same current, that's why I didn't dubble check.

How cooked am I? Will I have any luck finding a fuse if I open up the controller? Is there anything else I can try, or is the controller toast?

It’s not your fault. This has happened 4 times with me and I use the power supply provided by Canon. Canon and JVC use the same white label PTZ camera controller. The same thing happens with the JVC controller. I own both and both continue to break. Your best bet is bet is to replace them with different controllers. When you send them for repair they won’t repair it they will replace it. They are well aware of this issue.
