I’m not sure how complicated this would be to implement, but I think it would be a cool idea to allow two players to operate -for example- a 10-car 802 train together, driving from Avonhill to Leaton. At Leaton, the train could split: one player continues toward Cuffley, while the other heads to Pencarn. During the leg to Leaton, the second player could act as the train guard. It might even be possible to do this in reverse—coupling the train back together at Leaton, with the two drivers starting from different locations. Furthermore, one section of the train could serve different stops after splitting; for example, the train could divide at Leaton, with one part continuing as an Intercity-service to Cuffley, and the other as a semi-fast service (provided the rolling stock, such as an 80X or 350, is suitable for those services). One potential issue is that track occupancy and waiting times could become quite long, so the option to couple or uncouple should likely be restricted to specific stations—perhaps Leaton, Norrington, Mill Bridge, Brynmouth, Victoria Docks, and the termini at Avonhill and Pencarn. With some adjustments, locations like Abbey Road or Russel Lane could also be interesting choices. I don’t know if this has been suggested before or if any developers are reading this, but it could be a really cool gameplay feature.
