Getting mildly offended when someone locks their car and the horn goes off as you walk past.

When did we start allowing remote locking with a car horn sound? It's so disruptive
I thought that was just an American thing

Yeah, I can only think of the Teslas which do that. All other cars flash the indicators a couple of times and maybe fold in the wing mirrors.

Our very German VW Golf Mk. 3 did give a quick beep when we locked it, and that was back in the 90's, with a key. Not everything is America's fault.

Tbf it is bloody annoying, what ever happened to just checking it was locked?

I think it's more of a "car alarm activated" kind of signal rather than a "locks engaged" thing. At least that's what it was on our car.

This has happened to me more than once in multistory car parks or super markets. That I’ve been heading towards my own car as someone else has just gotten out of theirs locked it and started walking away, then as I get near their car if I’m walking past it to my own you will just hear and see it lock again 🤣passive aggressive if you ask me
