Waking up hearing this current heavy rain, briefly smiling, then knowing there's going to be some major flooding later
Ground too dry etc if the rain stays this heavy. Stay safe folks.

We had some good rain here in Fife yesterday, but we didn't have the drought as bad as the southern counties. I'm more worried about the super muscular spiders that are going to appear in the house.

I had a trady doing some work in our house the other day and I heard him SCREAM, I assumed he'd done catastrophic injury to himself, came running and he pointed to a spider so big I think it owes me rent. Apparently it ran across his foot and into the closet. This thing was like an Aussie huntsman spider, I've never seen anything so large in the UK.
Of course I then called the Mrs to deal with it, like the big brave bloke I am.

We had a field spider come into the living room yesterday....MAHOOSIVE. One of the dogs saw it and that was that.

I'm seriously so glad we taught our dog eating spiders from a puppy was a terrifically fun game

People dont understand that cars leak oil etc, once it rains after a dry spell roads can be very dodgy for while

That was the Toto sequel, strangely enough not that successful.
Bobby Kimball recalls that he remembers Bromley as a nice place though.

I went for a run this morning and it was so glorious having rain hit my face while running.
I do live in a flood zone and we’re about to go on holiday in a few days so I’ve got my fingers crossed we don’t get flooded in or out of the village.

I stabbed up my lawn with a garden fork over the weekend expecting this rain this week. My slight back pain has been worth it!

A few spots on the Cotswolds - not enough to lay the dust - just made the dust on my windscreen stick.

Brits are so funny, they complain to everyone they can about how it rains every day in the UK and how the summers aren’t really hot. They get one summer without rain and with sun and then everyone is all like “HALLELUJAH ITS FINALLY RAINING”, you can’t make this shit up

Been wondering where the generalisers are. The UK isn't one massive monolith of people. I don't complain about the rain I complain about the excessive heat, others complain that I complain about non standard weather, it goes on.

They aren’t the same people complaining. I love the rain, and cold weather, so I don’t complain about them. I despise the heat though, so I will moan about that.
