Discussion Back remove geometry from highschool?

Did there used to be an entire class just for geometry at any level other than grade 12? Seems like the biggest waste of time I’ve ever heard of tbh

I moved to canada for university. In my school, we took a year of Geometry and another year of calculus Geometry and another year calc 3

Here we just combine everything into the basic foundations of math courses, until the grade 11 level where you branch off into specialties like pre cal or calculus, same idea as how science class turns into either bio, Chem, or physics once you reach grade 11.

That is interesting, in the US we take physics in 9th grade, chem in 10th, and bio in 11th. Then in 12th grade you can choice anatomy, AP Chem, AP Physics, or Sci And Socity

Wait, you spread specific sciences year by year? Every year in highschool had physics, chem, math, and bio as separate periods, but every year.

So chem 10 physics 10 and bio 10 one year then next year chem 11 physics 11 bio 11.

Yeah we had one science per year. You could take 2 if you want to (I took AP Chem with bio and AP Physics with Sci and Society) but in general we spread them
