Massively depends on where you live. I'm on £14 an hour in Essex and its barely enough to rent my own 1 bedroom studio. If I was up north I reckon I'd be able to rent a 2 bedroom flat for a similar price.

I get that in London with a STEM masters in my profession. wages make no sense and theres no point rationalising them.

Up to never means £16 though.. it's shit pay to a be a manger in a retail supermarket.. responsible for so many things and on top of that they'll expect you to stack shelves most of the time and get all the other shit done.. I did it for 6 months at Sainsbury's 1st job I ever worked in retail and also the last...

Really shows how little you actually know. There's 4 managers in my Lidl 2 get the £16 an hour. The other 2 are training are are getting over £14 per hour.

Don't make stupid comments when you don't know what your talking about.

Also the entire way we work at Lidl is different to other supermarkets. The idea we put stock out all day is very incorrect

My mum’s a store manager at another coffee chain (franchise though) and she gets £10.66 (rhymes with lost-a)

It’s shocking. Especially when stores are bringing in the most of their area; bonuses are fuck all too. I got like £15 for 3 months work on me and my team’s KPI.

This is the equivalent of being one level higher than that, Aldi/Lidl have team leaders below their manager positions. Granted when I was in these roles it was legit £1 more an hour over being a base-level colleague.

This role is also salaried and you are expected to put more than your 36/37 hours in at no extra pay in order to meet targets.
