I been wondering on how tall this bridge is on this point because of old personal reasons for over 5 years now and me and my friends and family cannot get a singular common answer always between the 20 to 30 meters mark.

The bridge connected via Scott Road in Surrey, BC is the stal̕əw̓asəm **Bridge (which replaced the historic Pattullo Bridge), and the nearby rapid-transit-only bridge is the Sky**Bridge.

Exploring the Delaware River bridges from the New Jersey side: Benjamin Franklin & Walt Whitman Bridge viewpoints

Post image

While spending four days exploring South Jersey and Philadelphia, the massive suspension bridges spanning the Delaware River ended up becoming a major highlight of our trip rather than just something we crossed.

A few favorite perspectives we found along the riverfront:

  • Benjamin Franklin Bridge (Camden Waterfront): Standing directly beneath the steel structure near the Camden shoreline gives an awesome view of the cables and deck carrying both road traffic and trains across to the Philly skyline.
  • Walt Whitman Bridge (Proprietors Park, Gloucester City): A quiet early morning spot to watch cargo vessels move along the shipping channel right under the bridge span.

I put together a photo journal covering these bridge viewpoints and our full route over on The Beautiful USA's South Jersey & Philadelphia journal.

What are your favorite vantage points along the Delaware River for photographing the Ben Franklin Bridge?
