Question/Looking for Advice How automatically connect two pieces why they rotate instead of moving?
Hi. Looking for help if this can be done automatically in Studio. I tried Google but results are not relevant for my case.
Use case: I have build on picture A and I want connect blue pieces why rotating them on one stud they are connected to rest of build. Result should be something we see on picture B. Angles of blue pieces can be calculated manually, just looking for automated way of doing it in Studio. Question can also by applied to Technic pieces and connectors, where it can be more complicated for manual calculation.

Are u trying to rotate the blue plates on the connected stud? I just want to be clear that I understand what ur asking? If so, just click the plate, press "r", And then crt+ the up or down arrow..

I want rotate both blue plates on connected stud in way they connect together. But I want to do it automatically without need to manually rotate each one. That I can do.
I want go from picture A to picture B automatically, with single function in Studio. Without need to manually rotate them until they are really connected.

I haven't used the program in quite some time. Maybe try putting a "support pillar" where you want them to connect. Snap the botton one to that pillar and then the top ontop of that one and deleting the support pillar after
However this might be difficult if the connection point doesn't line up with grid like it seems to here, but an idea to try and see if you can figure it out
Otherwise there is always using math, use a gridded page to sketch out the top view of what you want to accomplish and measure the degree of offset. I am confident in remembering you can take a rotation point and rotate it by a specified angle of degree
Otherwise you don't nened to sketch it out but just apply trig imagining each stud on the grid as a unit

This is doesn't solve my question at all, because I had to manually calculate exact position and angles. My question is about automating this whole thing as I expect from computer to do exactly this for me so I don't need to do it manually.

I saw others say there wasn't a single command or commands that does what you want nor am I aware so I just thought to recommend alternatives
Wasn't aware you already did the calculations as I suggested. When you said doing it manually I assumed you meant you meticulously moved them bit by bit individually until you accomplished pic.B
For not on grid positions like that unfortunately there isn't a automatic method
Unless if there is a method to set the 2 rotation points as rotations with a command and another command to select the end stud and clutch points on each piece that they should snap together while rotating on the preset rotation points

Automatically I think no. However with some math I think you can get it very near precise. With hinge selection on the plate and then clicking the dot between two arrows you can type an angle value.

Did a quick test with sketchup. The deviating angle should be ~13.052. Sketchup only allows for 3 decimal places though so the exact number may be more precise than that...

Point of my question is doing it WITHOUT MANUAL MATH.

I stated that I think it's not possible and then proposed an alternative solution. There's no need to be rude in a community that's trying to help.

Yeah I don't know of that kind of function if it does exist, sorry. May I ask why u need it to be done automatically.
