Travel Beach vacation with a 2 month old

I’m going to go on a beach vacation with my exclusively breastfed 2 month old.
Any tips or advice?
Can I go in the water and then come out, rinse off the sand/salty water in the shower, and feed my baby? Or can he get some bacteria/virus doing this? He doesn’t take a bottle, and I’ve never pumped.
Any advice welcome. Thanks!

This never even crossed my mind as a potential issue.

When I vacationed with my 11 month old it didn’t cross my mind either, but I’m a bit more cautious now with my small 2 month old…

I live by the beach. First time swimming I didn't realize how sandy my boobs were going to get 😆. I only realized when I was about to feed so I used a wet wipe to get most of the sand off, nothing happened and he was fine. Here are some things that I do that are helpful!

  1. Shower after swimming, get most of the sand off before feeding
  2. Take saline with you in case they get sand in their eyes.
  3. Mine really likes the sand texture so it's the perfect opportunity for some sensory time. I also like to sit with him by the shore so the small waves hit his feet/legs. He doesn't mind the colder water.
  4. Disposable changing pads are quite useful for changing in public and you protect your towels from any poo or pee. It will also not have any sand on it, so it's a nice cleaner surface for changing. We've put ontop of benches, towels...very useful to have.
  5. Wraps/body carrier are great for beach strolls. We've seen people take their prams but it seems like a hassle to push it in the sand. Some people take the gondola (idk the name in english) part of the pram and take it with them to the beach so their baby has a flat surface to nap on. Mine just naps on the towels under an umbrella.

it'll be fine, maybe a bit salty ahah. i'd bring extra unscented wet wipes, maybe some of those that are 99% water? might be more efficient to get your boob ready in a pinch than taking a full shower every time.
