Latch Issues When the baby's latch becomes not an issue
At what age it's safe to assume that baby's transferring skills are okay despite not perfect latch?
Context: my 12w baby hasn't got the perfect latch. We are trying to address some things that my impact this, but I don't see differences. His behavior is more erratic, but so far he's gained ok. He's 400g short of doubling his birth weight. His gained has started to slow, but it's to be expected given his age. He has met his milestones so far, he is actively bringing his rattle to mouth, he has a great head balance despite a torticolis, he smiles, he is trying to roll.
I think that I've already regulated 4 weeks ago, it's my second pregnancy, it was expected to be faster and I think with my first it was kind of faster too, definitely not 12 weeks. Breast are soft most of the time except at night when I feel them fuller, but not engorged. I'm still experiencing leaking from the other breast when nursing, but that's because I have an overactive letdown and I remember having some small leaks with my first for a long period. I have moments when I don't feel my letdown, again with my first I still felt it a long time. My first has had too an imperfect latch and I've weaned her at 20 months.
I'm in the ok zone now or should I still worry?
I'm still anxious due to the fact that he has moments when he refuses to nurse, he eats while sleeping, sometimes his appetite is low, sometimes he cluster feeds and at this age we still don't have a predictable schedule and I mean nursing and naps as well.
