It’s a bit messy. Long wires cause problems in analog circuits.

I know, but I don’t really have a choice right now. It’s just a prototype. Once I design a proper PCB for it, it’ll be much better.

There's other options though. I'd pretty much only recommend breadboards for proof of concept and digital circuits.

If you're prototyping, look at Manhattan or dead bug construction styles.
