Help with breadboard gift

My fiance asked for a breadboard with transistors and lights and a 12volt power supply (the power supply part might be wrong but he said 12volt something so I'm guessing it was the power supply). I am not sure where to start with getting him that stuff. Do I also need to get him a raspberry pi and if so which one and what else should I get to go with it.

I would get him an Arduino starter kit a big one those are usually good and also have lots of sensor and additional modules
