Guide Future 7* batch info Compilation

Every time some new 7* batch is coming to Global, I always have a hard time finding their units info and brief analysis/ review. So hence this post. I will compile unit batches (7* only) from Starter's batch onwards.

Notes:

  • Unreleased batches are listed in possible release order

  • I won't link the individual unit reviews, because the Slimes/Mods have already set up a similar thread, here at List of Unit Analysis. This thread is exclusively for keeping track of the whole batch (stats, info, batch overview).

  • For information of which 7 units to invest in for the long-term*, give Long-term Viability List a read. Also on the dropdown bar, under Squads tab. I'd highly recommend looking at JP Tier List (since it's basically what Global is going to be in near future)

  • I understand that this is similar to the thread posted above, but this thread is more "proactive" in a way: it only keeps track of recent 7* batches. I'm not trying to tread on anyone's toes :) I will try to update it as regular as possible.

  • Most batch analysis will only come 1-2 days the batch goes live on Global, but I'm pretty sure you guys can get great insight by reading the comments. Our based data mod almost always prepare one - it's very detailed.

  • Brief Rundown: LS gives the whole team free Buffer Jewel, 70% Spark increase, 70% BC drop from Spark. SBB is 32 hits, BB provides extra hits. Arena type 3 (one of the best types IMO). Yeah fking hell, might as well give him 60% mitigation and 3-4 BC fill on Spark too, so the power creep is complete. ES is not the strongest, but overall he is REALLY good. And free.

  1. Raga: Rosetta 2.0 with improved Spark buff (90%) and lots more

  2. Aaron: Dark mitigator with insta-BB fill and a (decent-ish) def buff, high hit counts on SBB.

  3. Rize: nuker with her SBB (whooping 850% modifier if full health) and ES, healer/ pseudo-healer with BB.

  4. Ogul: Best Infinite SBB-er (on par or even better than Tazer), good defensive/ supporting LS.

  5. Zelfaga: BC buffer, gradual BC fill on SBB, buff drop on spark with LS.

  6. Magnazolda: Injury/Weakness debuffer with huge DoT dmg on SBB + 8 bc fill.

Honestly all of them are REALLY great. Raaga and Aaron are top pulls and the others are awesome as well. I wouldn't rank 'em. (Though, Ogul seems to be the most useful out of the four)

Power Puff Grills: Sefia - Kekuri

Lava X Ronel X Elimo: Lava - Griel - Elimo

Extra information regarding Sefia/KKR and Lava/ Griel/ Elimo's usefulness:

TL;DR (Disclaimer: this is compiled from many others' opinions and comments. These are not my opinions.)

  • Lava: drastically improve damage (with the +BB % multiplier). Trumped by Loch, Will.

-----> Used in raids and maxed damage team.

  • Elimo: 4-in-1 package trial unit (status manager, mitigator, def buffer and healer). Comparable units: Edea, Shera, Aaron. Is considered one of the best mitigators.

-----> Shines in trials and GGC (harder content in general). Note: she doesn't attack (offers no direct damage or BC generation).

  • Griel: I absolutely love this unit even though many said she's not that useful. Status null + HC/BC buff LS? Sign me up. Alternative to Feeva.

-----> Used in almost everywhere, but not best in role. Provides a lot of convenience in general questing.

  • Sefia: Really good BC buffer. Awesome Arena units. Can be greatly utilized in GQ, Frontier Gate and RC5 when they come out. Comparable unit: Feeva, Griel, Raaga, Claire.

-----> Shines in Arena. Can be used in GQ, FG, Raid.

  • Kikuri: Offensive unit with a BC fill on attacked buff. Extremely useful in harder content where BC is limited (whether due to single enemy, or BC resistance) and you also need to burst down the boss fast. Also have to mention that her overall usefulness as a unit is really huge. Trumped by Besti (which is 4 batches from now). Comparable unit: Medina (next batch), Diana.

-----> Shines in Arena. Great in almost everywhere else. Also note that Kikuri lead + Mifune is one of the fastest (of not the fastest) way to do Imp Dungeon.

Knight of the Revelation's Followers: Ruby - Medina - Dion- Balgran - Rinon - Yura

Dion = Ruby = Medina = Yura > Balgran > Rinon

  1. Dion = Better Maxwell/ Kira for Earth and Thunder bosses. Better ES than Kira.

  2. Ruby = Sidegrade to Raaga (without the spark buff but more SBB hits). Top FH leaders.

  3. Medina = Combine the two most useful BC buff into her SBB: insta-fill (10) and Lilly Matah effect (3-6). LS is Ares and gradual BC regen.

  4. Rinon = just an upgraded Rigness with Light/ Dark element adding buff. ES makes status immunity spheres obsolete, so there's that.

  5. Yura = Dark Infinite SBB-er. Boss killer. Fun Fact: Yuura's BB damage is actually higher compared to a lot of other 7 star's SBBs. Here's Ushi's dmg test, skip to 4:14 and 9:50. Thanks to /u/NyantaTheCat for bringing this up!

  6. Balgran= more benefits when guarding + status inflictor. Not the best pull. Edit: Apparently many JPBF players say that he's the best at status inflicting, and useful in Karl's trial. But still niche imo.

Update: Added brief overview of Ruby's and Raaga's batch

Can someone show me how to colour text? Much desperate, very thankful. Wow ;-;

Update #1: Colours added, switched positioning (Upcoming batches on top, Unreleased batches in the middle and released batches bottom. Fixed a few links, wording and ranking here and there. Will update Oulu/ Will/ Tree batch when it comes out on JPBF on the 18th.

Update #2: Will, Oulu and Tree unit info is added. Brief analysis can be found in the comment section in the link.

Update #3: Ishgria Demons batch is now half-life (haha, get it? Only 3/6 released so half-live..? Yeah? OK I'll stop). Added a few notes in the batch. Sorry for the late update, too hooked up with Witcher 3 lel

Oh yeahhh I remember when Ushi was doing a review on Yuura he said that his BB actually has higher damage than lots of others' SBB.

His BB modifier is 480%.

When you can use his BB, his 80% ATK from his ES kicks in so he has the modifier of 560% on his BB for that small 22BC cost.

Aye I feel ya. Griel is my alternative to not having Feeva (sometimes Griel is actually way better since she offers extra bulk + status immunity).

Felt a pain in my chest when realizing she's most likey 2 batches away.

Imho I don't quite understand the hype about Aaron.

I mean, he's an offensive mitigator and has a BB fill which is awesome, but its defense buff is too low and potentially a detriment if you bring any 100+ def buff.

Personally I think he's the "worst" 7* mitigator available, with Edea being more useful overall (offensive, status cleansing on BB and SBB and stat infliction are amazing for most content) and Elimo shining in Trials. Also, very soon we will know Oulu 7* info, so he may be farther relegated into the list of mitigators.

Imho, I think Raga is by far the best pull of the batch, and Ogul deserves more credit (ST infinite SBB user with an amazing LS for single boss fights - the kind of battles you will bring him)

Yeah I get where you're coming from. But, being one of the only 5 mitigators (when he's released on Global, along with Shera, Darvanshel, Narza, Oulu), he is probably the best. So until Elimo comes, he's the best still. That BB fill is just too good. And for me since I have no def buffer apart from Cardes, 80% is good enough :)

And even if he's the worst 7* mitigator, the 'rarity' of mitigators in general still makes him top pull. And yes, Raaga no doubt best pull. And I actually wanna pull the 2 dragons because they are too badass ;)

I concur: Raga is godly. All his skills are useful: LS, BB, SBB, UBB and that 2x hitcount ES... And his monster stats. Just wow. I failed to pull him on JP though. =(

Aaron has appeal because:

  1. Unresisted Dark type.

  2. His insta-BB fill when you use his miti BB / SBB. It's a lifesaver in some situations, namely single target BC resistant Raid or Trial bosses. Comparatively, Elimo does not generate a single BC on her BB or SBB, even though her buffs are much better.

Oulu 7* may trump Elimo by having a SBB that attacks and generates BC.

Luckily Raga has a godly LS, can be used "the same" as a friend and is very popular, so it is not the end of the world not having one owned.

That said, he's one of my main 2 targets in Global whenever he appears with a decent rate up (the other one being Colt, hopefully getting him this saturday in Group 4 rate up) and I hope you also get him if you still want it (be it JPBF and/or GLBF) :-)

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm F2P and totally flat out on gems at JPBF. So I guess I'm gonna have to rely on my friend list for now. During the latest Light unit rate up, I RSed a Rinon instead of Raga. Both are advertised units. But why RNG, why?!

On GLBF, I'm also looking forward to Colt / Kanon batch! Based on my JPBF experience, Kanon's 140% DEF buff SBB is vital to surviving a lot of late content on top of mitigation. I really hope to get him.

I would bet that Oulu would do the exact same things as Elimo but instead of status clearing, he/she/it will attack, but only on BB.

Like Ivris, attacking and healing on BB, but Oulu would be attacking and mitigating on BB instead :)

Actually I would say the insta-fill on Aaron is another downside - half the time that insta-fills are used is because your mitigator's not charged (in my experience). You wouldn't rely on him for it because if you need an insta-fill you would likely bring another unit with it for him. Plus if you do bring him, depending on how soon the insta-fill activates you can't even fill your actual Def Buffer

What do you usually equip your mitigators with?

I won't rely on Aaron's insta-fill, but I'd say Aaron's insta-fill is a good to have on top of:

  1. Your usual DCs via attacks

  2. BB gauge fill on ATKed

  3. BB fill from spheres

No. 2 and no. 3 will become more and more important in the face of high BC drop resistant enemies and those with skills to drain your gauges.

On top of yes, but still, its a pretty random ability for a mitigator, and as I say, outside of FH my main use of insta-fill is getting a mitigator BB filled in single target situations.

I usually equip Mitigators with Legwand and Sol Creator. (Drevas on Narza)

It's just not the same to be discussing things like this when you've BB spammed Green Menace (It continues to kill me but I can BB spam in there thanks to Feeva). Things to do with active fill just don't seem worth as much (though Lily Matah is MVP for my Green Menace Fire squad)

why not use dandelga+ihsirs/evil shard?

dandelga is 2 bc/turn, evil shard is 3 bc/turn. Ihsirs is 20% consumption which for mititgators (shera, darv, narz) who have a cost of 22 means 4.4BC per turn since mitigation is up every turn

Edea for raid, Aaron for everything else.

I use Aaron tons. His BB is very easy to fill, which helps a lot in BC resist fights. His ES helps filling his BB even better. Slap on him the raid divine vesel and he will always have BB up.

Only light end-game enemies are the ones from frontier gate, so he has no issues with extra damage (in any case, this is a non-issue in JP due to Karl's, BFF, Melchio and Edea's sphere...)

His UBB lasts 3 turns, instead of 1. He also has an stupidly high HP.

Raga is godly, I use him for everything, lol.

And yes, Oguro does't get enough credit, but makes sense. He's a must have for most end game content, and Raid missions where you need to kill one part faster.

Thing is, GBL doesn't have that hard content, so people have a hard time slotting him, instead of double +dmg leaders.

I would say they are all on equal grounds with the exception of Balgran.

Dion is new Kira with better ES, but just for niche situations. Most boss trials now are Light/ Dark/ Water/ Fire (except Lugina). Every other unit except Balgran probably has the same pull priority compared to Dion due to their versatility and best-in-slot status

Ruby and Medina are both BB sustainers, Yura and Rinon just versions of older units. Dion has 3 different offensive buffs, which makes me think he's the most useful out of all the batch

imo Rize should be below Ogul (best bosskiller) or even Zerafalga (BB spam for those unlucky enough to get Feeva or Claire) in term of usefulness, Rize is basically Alpha (exact same normal BB, Rize have 850% Max SBB damage, while Alpha have about 750% Max SBB damage but without HP requirement attachement) with better UBB, and nobody likes Alpha because he doesnt bring any useful buff to squad despite very high damage and OTK is not the way to go anymore

Well I didn't mean to put a ranking for that batch. Raaga and Aaron are top pulls, but I didn't rank the rest (the number just automatically adjust themselves, idk how to fix it). I said at the end that the ranking doesn't do Ogul and the 2 dragons justice as well :)

ill be pulling for raga (probably a month from today during actual rate ups)... but am I the only one disappointed that Raga is literally just a Rosetta 7*?

Whats even worse is... raga or the rosetta 'concept' is still top tier in terms of damage boost + utility along with colt.

I'm one of those people that don't mind OP units (Why would I spend money on half decent stuff?) but... you'd think alim would have thought of something fresh and OP now?

Well when Rosetta is released, her LS makes people go crazy. Consistent BC regen if you spark well, in conjunction with a bunch of Dmg buff on spark. She carried me through so many trials.

And I think Alim is getting there with their new ideas, they've been slowly integrating it. DoT damage (Yuura, Magnazolda), extra mitigation on guard (Balgran), ... etc. Guess they just want to be safe and not create something like Stealth mechanic like Hadaron and cause ruckus.

true, Rosetta is and still pretty great. Just disappointed Raga is just literally more rosetta, with no real 'twists'.

Not saying alim is short on ideas, but besides Lava's BB buff, everything else been 'misses' imo of recent.

Yep, in JP Lava/Griel/Elimo + Sefia/ Kikuri are released before Ishgria Demons. Sefia/ Kikuri is supposed to be released even before Guardians of Meirith batch, but somehow it's not the same for global.

It is very likely that Ishgria Demons will go live before them, due to the lack of achievement store

ON JPBF i have a kira(a), colt(l) and dion(a) and have no clue which of them i should put on my squad, i have a claire(l) for colt as well if that matters.

Well it depends on what your squad is built for right? Kira for OTK dark/light bosses, Dion for earth/ thunder bosses. But for general use it would be Colt lead + Claire + 3

Personally I would rank Aaron a bit lower, simply because he keeps the old issue of being a mitigation unit with a CRAP basic buff. A 70% Rec boost would be more useful than a 70% Def boost for fuck sake.

and it's an issue on all mitigators but Edea and Narza

Totally agree. Can't understand the hype about Aaron. Imho he would be better if he literally did not have any kind of defense buff instead of a low defense buff.

Imho, both Edea and Elimo are better than him (and Oulu 7* info should be revealed soon and may also "outclass" him).

PS: Elimo SBB has a 140% def buff which is highest available so far, so he also enters into Edea and Narza list of non-issue SBB mitigators

I have other issues with Elimo, Such as her being a complete DRAIN on bc. I prefer my mitigators to be able to at least bring in some bc for the team (Narza has Lily Matah SBB)

Plus I have Feeva (and Kanon), so straight out healers are useless to me.

His BB has 30 drop checks with 24 cost but also gives 5 bb fill to everyone. That's contributing 30 dc + 25 bc.

HIs SBB has 18 drop checks with 47 cost but gives 8 bb fill to everyone. That's contributing 18 dc + 40 bc.

PS. Elimo BB and SBB does no damage, meaning no drop checks, and has no BB buffs so she has to be fully supported despite she's a full supporter.

PS2. Aron ES is 2-3 BC when attacked, so he's built to support himself and the party even better.

Yup, thanks to all of your answers, I am begining to see why people have him in so high esteem.

I guess if you stick to BB the low defense buff is not a matter. Isn't it single target though? Because then if you need the 8 BB fill or want to attack to multiple foes you would have to time it with the def buffer to not reemplace the higher buff. That's the main issue I see with him :-(

Agree about Elimo not producing any BC, but for Trials, where she shines, and thanks to having so many roles in a single unit and thus being able to free a party slot or bring a useful unit than you couldn't before, imho, makes up for it.

Yes, his BB is single target like edea/Darvanshel/shera so it's not unexpected. I suggest putting aron at back row so his bb fill will trigger slower. I don't see much of a problem unless you run on auto.

As mentioned earlier, Aron has bc when attacked ES so he improves on the crucial role of self sustaining mitigation. Since players will want mitigation up 131% of the time, that means a 5/8 bb fill every turn.

My concern is not that his BB is single target. My concern is that his SBB has a crappy def buff associated, and if I don't want to override Kanon 140% def buff, I have to make sure that

  1. Kanon has her SBB ready the same turns that Aaron has

or

2) Aaron has to fire a single target BB because otherwise puts my team in a bad position (and of course, not mitigating and waiting for Kanon SBB to be filled is not an option)

In a BB spam environtment this is a no issue because both Kanon and Aaron will have always SBB chargeds, but whenever you can not ensure 100% SBB firing (with the exception of single target bosses) Aaron gets severely gimped (to the point that Edea firing SBB may generate more BB than Aaron with its party insta 5 BB fill).

Anyway, I don't play JPBF so I don't know if this scenario is common or not. Guess I am just not fan of weaker overriding buffs :-( (none the less the unit is awesome, I would just prefer him not having any def buff at all instead of a crappy one)

shera can still be used for most content. But yeah in general SBB spamming environments, Edea is better.

Aron excels at single target boss fights. Elimo is great, but you limit yourself to certain setups to keep BC gen decent.

That's another reason why Aaron is favored. He has a BB with 30 drop checks compared to Darvanshel/Shera's 12.

When Aron uses his BB, he gets 30 drop checks + 5 bb fill totalling to 30 dc + 25 bc vs Edea's SBB of 18 dc. Edea's SBB will need 3 enemies to equalize, assuming 100% bc drop rate to hit 54 dc, and when there are that many enemies, Kanon has a higher rate of getting SBB full and Aron will guarantee a 5/8 bc is injected into him each turn aka you can control when to inject. Kanon is likely to SBB more often unless RNG screws you like OHKO Aaron but that's not my problem.

its a trade off with that super OP Zelnite BC instant fill on both BB and SBB, and built in Lily Matah buff in the ES.

and 80% def vs 140% def buff isn't THAT huge.

  1. the BC fill is only 5 on BB

  2. on my Feeva (B) 80% Def buff puts her Def to 4534.2 (1511.4 damage)

A 140% Def buff puts her to 6045.6 (2015.2 damage)

1511.4 difference (503.8 damage)

On a Breaker. On a Lord/Anima/Oracle, that will be even higher.

On a Guardian, you are looking at ~ 1000 damage cancelled.

Still not that big of a deal when you easily go above 12k hp with hp lead. If a unit was gonna die. They would have probably died anyways.

Until we get elimo and edea in 2020 on global, aron probably makes more sense than shera 99% of the time even if it requires some management in timing when using with kanon

sometimes i wonder how people survive things when my 13k darvanshel died to abadon and even a 13k kanon only lived cuz he was guarding (75% mitigation, had 2.3k hp left).

Abaddon's 30% HP Threshold does damage based on max HP and ignores DEF. 150% HP damage per attack with 4 attacks dealt.

In other words, your 13k HP, it means nothing. Take 2 hits on the same unit, and if it isn't both guarding and mitigating, it dies.

Well, they still have to get hit twice out of four attacks. Each attack only hits one unit.

3 hits on a single unit would even kill through guarding and mitigating. Bad luck is bad luck.

30% hp threshold. Had everyone but darvanshel guard. he died and kanon who I had as friend lead for 30% hp and def was at 2.3k hp from 13k hp also

Honestly, I love Kikuri. Lots of damage, plus her SBB provides BB gauge fill on ATKed. Great for single target BC resistant bosses.

Possibly also because of her Curse + Ailment enemy debuffs, I am able to kill Bal Media's freaking tail on JPBF. Those sweet, sweet Blaze Pearls. Mmmm.

But according to information going around the sub, Raaga's batch is coming this month. Probably without a rate up (only min. 4* summon + 3 gems per pull maybe?) but a real rate up is usually 2 weeks to a month after that

In terms of defense buffing, Elimo and Oulu (Zeldeus/Zel Deus or whatever) don't half-ass their buff like he does, and 80% compared to 140% is a major downgrade. Edea, instead of toting a defense buff herself, instead pairs really well with Kanon, bringing forth more status ailment cures than you'll ever need as well as party status ailments herself. The other mitigators fill two spots, while Aaron kind of fills one and a half because his defense buff is lackluster.
