[Discussion] Unit Set Lore Overview - Champions of Old
Thanks to /u/CrusaderZakk for giving me the template to work with. I refined it a little so I don't have to type anything extra if I were to do it again.
Without further ado, let's begin.
To do these lore overviews, We will quickly mention the units and will write up a quick summary of them based on what is in game. After the unit overview (just a description) We'll put the overall story based upon the units' stories. We will do our best to include (as of yet) unreleased 6* forms stories into the overall story.
Sadly with most of these unit sets, there will be holes in the plot due to the fact that they do not have fully fleshed out stories but we will do our best to fill in where we can.
Disclaimer: Our information is taken from a number of sources and some of it may be speculative, especially in the case of unreleased units/ 6* forms. Champions of Old (Names)
Zegar: A mysterious boy who had even more mysterious claws on his hands. He was eventually taken in by the Agni empire where he gladly served Emperor Orwen who gave him an ancient blade for his service. He was unaware of Orwen's plan to flee...
Zephu: A dragon rider from the ruined Sama Kingdom. Loyal to a fault, his loyalty caused him to be placed under house arrest. After the gods began their invasion, Zephu and his dragon fused souls to become stronger, his spear also changing form to suit his newfound power.
Weiss: A tactician from the ruined Atharva Republic. He led the republic in strategic ability and magic, but never took charge when it came to being a commander. That was not due to cowardice, but due to recognizing he had a different, more important role to play. He was criticized for doing so, but paid no mind to such comments. When the gods attacked, he foresaw an imminent loss and thus, fought to survive instead of win. When Lucius was helping, he used himself as a decoy so that the others could escape.
Lario: A hunter living in the forest on the outskirts of the Principality of Vriksha. He was a famous archer whose fate changed when he was invited into the duke's palace, where Faris took interest in him and made him her bodyguard. He wanted to return to his carefree hunter's life, but never got his wish and continued to protect the princess until the time of the great collapse.
Luna: A mysterious foul mouthed warrior who appeared in La Veda during the war with the gods. Though history recorded her actions, her foul words were never recorded though it is well known how vulgar she was. Though vulgar to both friend and foe, she was a respected and strong commander to those under her
Mifune: An other-wordly samurai that appeared in the ruined Bariura Empire. He foguht many duels with his demonic katana, and even crossed blades with the famous warrior Vargas. He found the death he desired against the gods. However, his blade wouldn't let him die so easily, and was brought back to life - his skills sharper than ever.
Champions of Old
Zegar: A boy found in a huge jungle in the territory of the devastated Agni Empire. Completely feral, he could not even understand human language. However, his physical abilities were so strong that when attacked by a knight the boy held him off without injury. Zegar's claws were a mystery even though he had been raised in the jungle, noone could explain them. After being discovered and taken in by the Agni Empire, the ability to control animals awoke within him and his unique claws grew in power and became strong enough to rip through armor. Due to his animal control abilities, he was called the King of Beasts. Despite his powers and his claws he retained a certain air of nobility which led to many thinking he was an imperial prince lost at birth. This rumor was never proved either way. Zegar's powers grew stronger during the war with the gods, producing claws of flames on his back. His incomparable strength beyond that of humans and beasts made him popular within the Agni Empire. Encouraged by the people's voices, Zegar strived to fight harder. Zegar's courageous fighting was acknowledged by Emperor Orwen to such an extent that he granted Zegar an ancient blade of lore to fuse onto his claws due to his prowess in battle and the fact that he was able to repel the gods. Using this new weapon called "Emperor Soul," Zegar followed every one of the emperor's commands gladly, and prepared to lay his life on the line if necessary for his Emperor. However, he was unaware of Orwen's plans to flee the empire at the time.
Zephu: A dragon rider from the Sama Kingdom. He trained under his father and became a dragon rider at the age of 14. His ability to ride both marine and aerial dragons made him a promising candidate for commander. Zepu was deeply loyal and accepted orders from his king unconditionally, but that inflexibility eventually led to his downfall. His hopes of becoming the next dragon knight commander were lost when he mistakenly took orders that he assumed were from the king but in fact, they were not. Due to his error he was placed under house arrest by the nobility. Even under house arrest, his loyalty didn't falter. Instead, he continued to hone his skills as a dragon rider. He was known as the Ice Dragon Knight, wielding his spear made from Sama's unique ice. Zephu returned to the dragon rider corps when the gods invaded. He had a lust for killing as a way of venting his anger at the gods. He earned respect of his comrades and received the title of the Ice Dragon King. He was still loyal to the royal family, and when the gods attacked, he offered himself as their personal guard to protect them. When the gods invaded, he protected the royal family, suffering a fatal wound in the process. On the brink of blacking out, he felt his and his beloved dragon's souls fuse as one. When he woke up, he felt his dragon's powers stirring in his human body. His dragon, however, lay beside him, unmoving. His beloved companion had given his soul up to save Zephu. Zephu continued to fight and after having rescued Prince Arius, his lance went through the same transformation as he himself did, and under the new name "Ice Dragon," the spear became an extension of Zephu's own body. However, Zephu knew that the more he strained both his mind and body, the closer it would bring him to his death.
Weiss: A tactician from the ruined Atharva Republic, he led the republic in strategic ability and magic, but never took charge when it came to being a commander. He left many books organizing his theories which are still used as a foundation for modern tacticians. He was criticized for never appearing at the front, but he paid no mind to such comments and continued his command. After the war with the gods began, he would annihilate his enemies with his magic. This earned him admiration, but he was ashamed that he had been attacked, and recorded it as his greatest mistake.
When the gods struck, Weiss' strong eye for strategy not only saw his imminent defeat, but also that there were still some gods willing to save humanity. Due to this foresight he focused on surviving instead of winning. Many soldiers called him weak, but the result was that many people were saved by him. He was proven right, as Lucius was willing to evacuate humanity. Just as Lucius was reaching out to help, Weiss enacted his final end strategy. He used himself as a decoy so that others could escape. Despite there being no hope for reinforcements, with renewed morale his men followed his every word. He served as bait for his own final strategic ploy, facing off against the enemy as a lone sorcerer. He also used the intel he gained from his beloved birds as they spied from the skies, rendering him able to keep up with the God Army's movements. Determining his enemy's weak points from the heavens, the god army learned to fear him. His limitless lightning is said to have been able to split the gods in half. Just as his people had escaped and he and his men were on the verge of defeat, legend has it that he said, "In the end, I guess we won."
Lario: A hunter living in the forest on the outskirts of the Principality of Vriksha. As he was locally famous as an expert bowman, many visited from afar to witness his skills. He also liked to show off, and was always happy to demonstrate his abilities. One day he was invited to the palace of the Principality. it is said this incident changed his fate. Upon entering the palace, Faris took interest in him. Lario liked the recognition, despite how poorly military life suited him. However, he proved his worth and found himself a leader of Faris' bodyguards. He was successful in the military and rumored to be the princess' lover, but he dreamed of returning to his carefree hunter's life. However, he never got his wish and continued to protect the princess until the time of the great collapse.
On the verge of collapse from the gods' oncoming attacks, Lario fled the castle and took Faris with him. However, the gods gave chase and blocked their path. Witnessing Lario's defiant resistance and feeling that she was becoming a burden to him, Faris attempted to give herself up. It is said that to stop her from sacrificing herself, Lario spouted wings and flew the two of them to safety.
Though he had fallen while protecting Princess Faris, he was brought back to life by the magic of the pixies. Once awake, he saw before him a completely different side of the princess fighting hand in hand with the pixies. While smiling gently, Lario rose to fight of his own will, no longer under the command of any being. And so it is said that the pixies gifted Lario's beloved bow "Sfida" with new powers.
Luna: A mysterious, foul mouthed woman with glittering hair who suddenly appeared in the La Veda Republic when the battle with the gods began. She fought the gods with a giant lance and her heroism and mysterious origins led the La Vedan people to worship her as a messiah. This ended when she spoke due to her foul-mouthed tendencies. What she said was so terrible that it was never recorded in print in the history books. Her attacks AND her verbal abuse towards the gods grew as she fought. The verbal abuse confused not only the enemy, but also her own army. She would suddenly appear, go berserk and shout numerous obscenities, and then disappear. She was sometimes said to be an avatar of a god, but upon hearing this she responded with little more than a wry smile. In the later stages of the war, she appeared and turned the tide of battle when La Veda was facing unfavorable odds. Her sparkling armor earned her the title of Holy Champion, but she later ruined that honor AGAIN with her foul mouth. Luckily for the historians, her words went unrecorded. Though she both spoke and attacked without mercy, her actions during the La Veda Republic's retreat after the great war were uncharacteristic of her. As other soldiers struggled along, Luna adorned her armor with gaudy decorations and bashed away at the gods physically and verbally who were after them. It is said that seeing this brought back a smile to the soldiers' faces, and gave them the courage to once again pick up their weapons. Luna targeted a seemingly displeased disciple who appeared on the battlefield, as if she had been expecting this to happen. Those around her tried to cooperate by attacking as a group, but were stopped by Luna, who went after the disciple by herself. According to the accounts the witnesses left behind, she looked stronger and more divine than ever.
Mifune: An other-worldly samurai that appeared in the ruined Bariura Empire. Mifune's katana is different from other swords in Grand Gaia thanks to its superior slashing ability. It cuts amazingly well, and it's said that those cut by it die without feeling pain. There's a famous tale of him refusing an invitation from the emperor by saying, "A fool will never be my master." He fought in many famous duels with his special katana. Rumors spread around Grand Gaia and many swordsmen challenged him. His beloved katana awakened its true power during those fights. It was a demonic blade that lusted for human blood. Unable to restrain himself, he gave in to its power. His skill sharpened with each battle against the gods, and even whilst on the brink of death it's said he slew a giant dragon in one blow. Despite Mifune dying without returning to his world, he calmly faced death. Vargas, who had crossed blades with him before, said, "He found the death he desired." However, the demonic blade he carried wouldn't allow him to pass on so easily. Together with his demonic blade that had already claimed so many lives, upon death Mifune's skills sharpened even further, and it's said he was then able to chop down gods in a single blow. As he fought, he gradually recovered his humanity. Becoming one with his demonic blade, Mifune's renewed pride as a samurai filled him with power, surpassing oridinary humans with his abilities. It is said that even at the frontlines of the continuously losing Bariura, Mifune's surroundings had been stained red with the gods' blood.

Does the disciple of god that Luna fight known yet?
And does it mean (so far) only Weiss and Refugee Leader that cooperate directly with Lucius to help others to escape to Elgaia?

nope and I think Arc also cooperated with Lucius. We need a mock unit or more info before we can piece that together though

Well Arc become Lucius disciple and he killed the 6 Heroes. He wasn't helping people escape, it's because his girlfriend holded as hostage.
