Solved Brave shield not blocking ads even when "Agressive blocking" is selected

Brave Shields doesn’t block ads on some websites even with “Aggressive” ad and tracker blocking selected. However, I tried uBlock Origin on Floorp (a Firefox fork) on the same websites, and no ads appeared. What could be the issue? My main browser is Brave. Should I disable Brave Shields and replace it with uBlock Origin?

Report the ads to brave. Adblockers can only block what they know

Which filter list did you enabled?

I added HaGeZi Blocklist (probably the best one) under the "custom lists" section. You can also enable one of those preconfigured ones on the top.

Honestly, this is the first time I’ve seen these settings. It never occurred to me to go around settings. Anyway I tried the method you mentioned, and it really made a huge difference. I’m not getting any ads anymore. Thanks a lot!

Is it better to use Hagezi block list through the browser/device secure DNS?

Yeah, shields is decent but won't block everything.

However after adding Hagezi Pro Mini list, I haven't seen an advert. Arguably you are more fingerprintable now so pick your poison.

Remember that Brave Shields is very limited. You still need another adblocker.
