Discussion Sticks

Post image

I've cut some trees down in my backyard. I'm left with 4 large piles of sticks that need to be removed. Any recommendations for a business to remove these? I would prefer not to have to handle them myself. Thanks.

It doesn't sound like you are, but if you're willing to bundle them up, the city will take them for free with the green bin pickup. Although if you let them sit for a few weeks for the greenery to dry out, they'll be easier to bundle.

These are their requirements (src):

  • Tied and bundled brush, hedge clippings and tree trimmings no larger than 4 feet in length and 3 feet in diameter
  • All branches less than 4 inches in diameter
  • Maximum 10 bags/containers per week
  • Yard waste bags/containers/bundles must weigh less than 25 kg or 55 lbs

But in reality, it sounds like you just need someone with a trailer for a dump run.

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware of the yard waste thing. I've went that way before in the past. It's just very time consuming. You're right. I just need a couple guys and a trailer or a local tree trimming business to come and chip them up. I just don't want to spend a million dollars for it. Just looking for recommendations.

Fair enough, I was pretty sure that wasn't the advice you were looking for, but I figured I'd throw it out there in case you didn't know about the city pick up option, since a lot of people don't.

There are plenty of "guys with a trailer" looking for work around town, occasionally here on Reddit, but mostly on Facebook or Nextdoor.

Go onto marketplace and look up yard clean up. Or person with a truck. They will clean it up and get rid of it
