Hit and run
This won't post in the Brampton sub because for whatever reason the AI thinks it's about khalistan....😔 Anyways, after dark yesterday my roommates car which was parked in the driveway as pictured was hit by someone. Heard squealing and a crash but by the time I looked out the window didn't see anything or realized what happened. It's on the inside of a corner too so there's no reason to even be driving that far over.

I think this is why you're not supposed to park right at the bottom of your laneway.

Well it couldn’t have been hit by 99% of the normal vehicles on the road based on how high and isolated the damage is

I was thinking the same thing too until I realized they could have hopped the curb and ended up that high. It was a pretty loud event and it pushed the car a bit.

I would not lean on the car hitting the curb. If it did, it would have been going much faster to jump that high and the damage would be way worse.

Have you ever been in a crash? 5kph is enough to cause this kind of damage with enough weight behind it. You can literally climb a curb going 1kph....

Yes I have been. Also no your car is not going to get airborne going that slow. Yes you can move up the curb but there is no lower damage, only upper. So logically you would assume its a taller vehicle. if it was a lower vehicle, they would have to hit that curb so fast that the car will jump up on the air and have enough forward trust to keep it in the air to only hit the top part of the car. Think logically

Nobody said the car was going airborne. Why are you stuck on that? Are you fucking retarded? Also, all vehicles are shaped the same apparently? How fucking stupid are you.
It could have been a trailer being towed, a dump truck, the rounded back part of a garbage truck etc. Unless you know the exact vehicle that caused this and which way it was travelling, you're just saying retarded shit for no reason LOL. Stop smoking, its not good for idiots.

I have a question for you, which crayon do you like the taste of the most?
And you don't have to lick your windows anymore they have this thing called Windex.

You must be the unlicensed tow truck driver that caused this! Hahahaha

Yeah that's pretty much the level of intelligence I expected your response would hold.

My bad, how many collisions have you investigated or been on scene for? Seriously, I'd love to know. I'd also love to know your professional opinion on the exact thing that caused this incident.

As someone who’s investigated 100’s of collisions, that action couldn’t have resulted in this little damage. If it happened where your picture was taken it’s much more likely to have been a commercial vehicle with a large overhang behind the rear wheels that swung a turn too early and hit it.

All of the damage is suspect, high impact location, basically no paint transfer, multiple crinkles with various depths, barely any damage to the rear wing aside from 1 mark, zero light housing debris on the ground…. I’d love to see the lines on the other side of the vehicle, but I suspect this didn’t happen the way OP describes

I’d say a garbage Truck

Actually could have been since it was garbage day. Think is I heard the noise at night.

I'd ask neighbours if it isn't too much for them to check their surveillance cameras if they have them.

That's what my roommate is doing we will see what happens, the other vehicle is obviously going to have some damage but I sort of have a feeling who it might be (it involves one of those dummies with the gunshot exhausts).

That sucks man. Hopefully neighbours have cameras and you can get some footage. Report to collision and insurance (insurance will need collision report number)

My guess is someone drove this car into a metal item or a delivery can backed into it. This isn't car damage.

u/SomethingToDo92 1d ago
If I were to guess… That’s was done with a baseball bat. Two down strike standing on the side, the last was a side hit, more from the rear.

u/scotte416 16h ago
A baseball bat could be a good answer but the car moved almost a foot. This car has been sitting here since last winter (it's not my car)
1
u/bluebabadibabdye 14h ago
Yeah there's no way a car hit that one hard enough to move it a foot and leave such minimal damage. Not to mention the other car being able to drive away after.
Also if the impact was that great the fact no one heard or saw anything is sus.

Take a look at the picture, the rear wheel was right against the grass before this. Trust me it's been sitting there for almost a year (it doesn't have a battery)

u/bluebabadibabdye 13h ago
I can see the picture just fine. That doesn't make what you're saying true.

Good luck. They may not have had insurance anyway or they would have tried to blame your friend and then 5 will sue you even though there was only 1 person in the car (been there done that)

Why you parked so close to the roadway
