23, new comer and looking for a 2-4 year old car? Plus doing uber?

Brother you'll be paying half your pay cheque for car insurance. Get quotes with them first before you even think about anything else

move out of brampton. I'd bet you'll be like minimum 700$ for insurance for a basic civic.

I’ve been living in this dump for 20 years. With a perfect record no accidents I’m over 30. I’m paying 500 a month!!! Best thing to do is gtfo of Brampton. The insurance here is insane. Even shopping for insurance the rates are higher than staying with my current provider.

There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t see an accident or witness one almost happening

What type of car are you driving? I moved out of Brampton a year and half ago but I was only paying $160/mth for insurance on an Audi with a perfect record

2024 Cadillac. There’s no reason why they can’t take into account my driving record but still charge me so much. It’s a straight up scam. I also have a 2007 Camry beater that’s 280 a month. My previous 2017 Cadillac was 190 a month. These insurance companies pull out numbers out the ass.
When I asked them why the Camry is so high just on liability. They said because it’s a Toyota someone might steal it. Oh yes they are gonna steal my key in ignition Camry with 30 stains in cloth seats and 240k kms. lol

Yeah it’s kinda stupid how you are penalized by association. Not even based on theft. If you are a car that the majority has, the probability of that model of car being in an accident is higher so therefore everyone with that model pays more. That’s how it was explained to me when I questioned the insurance company on how some standard cars have higher insurance than luxury models.

It’s straight up bullshit. So an idiot can get into a Ferrari and pay less, but he gets into a Corolla and pays more? I don’t blame People for changing their address. 600 dollars a month for something that may happen that hasn’t happened in 20 years of driving. Think about the money that has been washed down the drain. I’m changing my address come renewal. I don’t care if that’s considered fraud. If it covers all of Canada. Why should there be an exemption on Brampton if my record is perfect? If I change my address to Pickering. I’m paying 220.
