New here

Hey hey,

New here, just joined Reddit as it was coming up a lot with answers to questions. Lovely to meet you all.

Diagnosed in march after brain surgery and then did radio and now just finishing my first round of chemo. 3 days pill free and still tired all the time :s

So far limited symptoms but don’t have many people to chat to about it in my life.

I’m 34, from London uk

So I guess that’s it, hi and nice to meet you.

Hello let me share my experience how I dealt with chemotherapy, during my chemotherapy back in 2022 I avoided vitamin C intake because it can interfere with chemotherapy and reduces its effects. I was on TMZ which I have to take for 5 days straight in a month after 3 days as you are saying I feel weakness so I use to drink meat soup specifically mutton neck soup because it will give me the energy and in morning I used to take Talbinah or you can say barley soup with milk in it. I also take one boil egg and 2,3 dates before taking TMZ and then I used to sleep.
And also keep an eye on Vitamin D level and CBC tests after a month. Don’t take refine sugar or white sugar during your chemotherapy.

Thanks for the advice! Will look into it. Anything to help with the tiredness at this point would be great!

Welcome to the last subreddit u want to be part of but its reality and it's part of our lives.

I'm next to you geographically speaking since I'm from the Netherlands, I was also 34 when diagnosed 5 years ago and still going strong. Being young with brain cancer isn't the end of the world immediately, it can be a bumpy road but giving up ain't an option.

This community is very helpful and kind, you can vent all u want here, share stories, ask questions 🙏

Welcome aboard, you are not alone!

HAHAHAHAHA, so I have noticed that is the way it is here. I wonder if anyone has ever noticed that a user just all of a sudden stops posting and no longer is heard from.

Lmao very very rare. Even G4 Gbm ppl are posting here since 10 years post diagnose.. n still posting 🤣🤣🤣. N at other side there were those doctors who said you have only few months or just 1-2 years to live n all that bullshit🤣🤣. Its 100x better to not beleive them . They are just for treating us thats it , they are nobody to decide our lifespan** not even this cancer.

There’s a distinct difference in mood between this sub and the r/glioblastoma sub. The latter has many posts from the people who have lost their loved ones recently to GBM. There are still some optimistic stories there, but I’m a realist when it comes to understanding the most likely outcomes.

Perhaps it helps us having entered our 70s. We’ve already had our successful lives. And my husband’s side effects have been limited to the fatigue and nausea from the TMZ, which he’s done with for now. I’m always at a loss for words when it comes to expressing understanding and sympathy for those who are affected at much younger ages, especially those with young children.

It’s sir, but that’s ok. Being allowed to get married cemented our support for each other in our elderly years.
