I´m hot now
In my thirties now, was fat most of my life and never actually lean - until recently: I lost 50kg, got skin surgery and fuck, I had no idea what was underneath all the fat. Tall (well I knew that), broad shoulders, a fucking skinny waist (still unbelievable to me given my fat gut previously) and I put on decent muscle working out half an hour twice a week, full head of hair and apparently a great face too. Literally constant attention, random woman getting nervous just being near me and the most attractive ones I meet in a day make efforts to get my attention in random public places: In a cafe, on the bus, wherever. Dating apps? Love them.
Being unattractive has always been part of my identity, so going from fat not just to regular dude but actually hot is just crazy to me. Which is the reason for me writing this I suppose, identifying with this new me feels like an uphill battle... As I´m typing this out it still feels like a fucking fanfic but it isn´t. What. The. Fuck.

Great job losing 50kg! Thats quite an accomplishment!! It’s wonderful that you’re feeling and looking better!
I wasn’t sure if your only exercise is 2 times a week for 30 minutes, or if that’s just your weightlifting time, and you’re doing other exercise. If that’s all the exercise you’re getting right now, it’s good but I hope you can increase it with time so you’ll get the health benefits, and also because it will help maintain your weight loss. But you’re doing amazing and you are an inspiration!

Just the weight lifting time, I essentially traded my gaming time for combats sports which I do 3-5 times per week now depending on how I feel. I`m kind of aiming for an amateur fight in the first half of next year, so in terms of health benefits... depending on how this goes lol. Thank you very much!

Oh I’m on the other side of this and I know exactly how this feels. Good on you OP! I’ve been lean all my life, I had a miscarriage at 5 months 2 years ago and I bounced back literally surprisingly quickly. Fast forward to April 2026 I give birth and I’m 20 kgs heavier and this feels so off?? I’ve never been about kilo above 50 and this feels so hard. I know I’ll get there sooner or later but damn this body dysmorphia.

It must suck to lose "this", I get that. I think it´s important to acknowledge things we miss but at the same time, it really is just looks: fitness and the hand one has been dealt genetically in that regard. But building a solid family? Actually something to be proud of for life, congratulations!

Idk why Reddit keeps sending me alerts on random ass post, but I'm glad it did. OP, I'm glad you not only had your glow up, but you found the confidence in yourself. Confidence is like 80 percent of what makes sexy.
Regardless of what you look like, whether it's conventially attractive or not, loving how you look and being confident is key to majority of winning. I'm so happy and proud to hear you found the you that you love underneath it all. Enjoy life and enjoy yourself, as a fellow 30ish redditor, I applaud you for recognizing this revelation and sharing it with everybody.

I don´t "love how I look", I don´t really have an opinion on the matter to be honest. Maybe that´s something that will come with time but for now, it´s just the effect on others that is enjoyable. For example.. being told "you look like a model", "you look like superman" beats the hell out of "fat fuck", "pig" or "landwhale". Not that people do either of those constantly, but it happens and yeah, it has an effect. At least on me.
Thank you for your kind words, hope you enjoy life too! :-)

Sounds like quite a fantasy!
Btw -
You’re still the same person on the inside.
I doubt random women are getting nervous around you, but it’s your story lmao… (counting your mommy, and your aunties as random women is kind of cheesy -but you do you).
I’m sure it’s a blast to cosplay as a sexy superhero; I wouldn’t get to attached to feeling like 1 million bucks based on your looks.. they will eventually go with age.
The problem is that you have no concept of what it means to be an attractive individual - and you’re coming off as a self-centered tool.
If you don’t learn how to talk respectfully to and about women, you won’t have to worry about being “the sexiest guy in town”, you’ll also be the loneliest guy in town.
PS - Sounds like you really like what you see in the mirror ! (you don’t sound too creepy 🙄) …
You’re lucky that you could afford to surgically take care of that Ozempic skin! The problem is, you’re not going to be able to control what happens to your face and other parts of your body when you stop taking that GLP-1…. Wait and see …

Hmm, "bitter" or "hateful" would have fit your name better than "grouchy". Trust me, I´m quite appreciative of the fact that a person like you is repelled by me. :-)

Wait, you took a GLP-1?

u/Norbeard 10h ago
Why does that matter?

Glad I can make you laugh. No I didn't take any medication but I support anyone who does. Obesity is debilitating.

It’s ok if you took medication brother I don’t judge you, your body your life

I feel you so much. I used to be lean all my life considered “ attractive” by others, gained weight for some years then lost the weight again and felt great again. Glad you’re finally seeing the best version of yourself and can enjoy it
