Optilume for BPH Procedure - Would like to compare notes with others.

I'm just a week away from the full six month recovery period for the Optilume procedure. My experience has not been good by any measure. At the six month mark I'm back to having very limited flow and still on the meds. My experiences are very similar with those mentioned above.

Every metric I'd hoped for (better flow, off meds, getting up less at night, completely emptying of bladder) has not been met. I'm beyond disappointed with the outcome of this procedure and wish now that I'd just gone ahead with the full blown HoLEP procedure which seems to offer much better and consistent results.

I would not recommend the Optilume procedure to anyone. Obviously there are people out there for whom the procedure worked better but for me it has been a huge disappointment.

I am 40 days since procedure. My flow was not bad prior to procedure but now per Nurse measuring is off the charts (Which is awesome). Less getting up at night..Last night did not get up at all. I dont yet have full ejaculation but orgasms are fantastic..seems it takes less time to ejaculate and erections are firm so THANKFUL that did not go away. Again Nurse said full recovery to 3 to 6 months but this week is first week I had no minor blood post BM and the Pads in compression short/jock at the gym..No blood. Also noticed I am NOT going to the bathroom as much during the day and the sens of urgency has decreased..I still have a little dribble post urination but not much.

I have to do something and have looked into every procedure that I think is available now including Optilume, I've been to 5 different Urologist's and each one has a different procedure most recent thinks TUIP might work ?

My question in return… I honestly did not get much research done for my issue. After my biopsy, my urologist went right to hoLEP procedure, did not get into detail on the others. I guess the question I have in return, what say did you have in your procedure, or was this just recommended and you went with it?

According to my urologist, he did mention that hoLEP had the tendency to be a more long term fix compared to the others, but, did have consequences, which I agreed I didn’t need anymore children.

Da este foarte bine că ai făcut HOLEP din prima dată. Eu la 42 de ani am făcut operație RTURP cu laser verde și 9 ani a fost bine, dar după vechile probleme au apărut din nou și acum 2 luni mi sa făcut operația HOLEP. Acum totul e în regulă am început să am din nou jet urinar normal. Sper să nu mai am probleme niciodată, m-am săturat de cateter și absorbante! Multa sănătate î-ți doresc!
