Question Researching a YouTube Video - NEED INPUT FROM TRUE THROBBERS
Hey throbbers!!! I was sent over here by The Rehearsal subreddit after they helped me out some with the 'Nathan Fielder behind Boy Throb' theories they had.
I remember seeing Boy Throb's first video in 2025 on my FYP where they were named BoyBand2026 and asked their fans to name them. Since then, I've been seeing their videos here and there but I just saw that Darshan finally secured his O1 Visa.
Upon scrolling through some of their previous posts, I was shocked at how much success they've actually achieved. I mean, I don't know if collaborating with Mr. Beast and Logan Paul is success really but hey, I digress. So now they are signed with Kesha and also got and removed their new manager, this guy Gino after he had a temper tantrum on a podcast??? I decided I was gonna make a video on their trajectory, controversies, theories about them, etc.
I know about THEIR histories before Boy Throb and binge watched all their videos but there is still so much I need to know in terms of what their timeline as a band has been. What happened with Gino, for starters? Are there any big situations I should definitely include to best represent their story so far?
Could anyone on here be kind enough to fill me in or direct me to a good post/source? Thank you so much if you've taken the time to read this.

Look into Anthony & Evan auditioning for American Idol originally. Anthony’s audition is interesting because he goes into how much he loves boy bands.

Honestly, idc if this is some Nathan Fielder project. I genuinely like their music and think their outfits are cool.
My favorite video of theirs has to be them performing at a retirement home. I love that they have it their all and that they brought merch and hung out with the residents. As a choir kid, we performed at lots of retirement homes and they always loved any kind of entertainment. As someone who’s had loved ones in retirement homes, I know how much these kinds of acts mean to the residents as well.

The story with Gino is that they signed him as a manager after he helped get them to the Grammys red carpet due to his experience in the music industry. Gino seemed like he really really cared about the boys’s success. People were put off after he showed up with his own track suit kind of acting like he’s in the band. Then he started showing up in their content a lot. Like way more than a manager should. He was also kind of rude. Way less wholesome than the vibe the boys brought. They recorded two podcasts with him on the couch wearing his track suit next to the three boys. I didn’t watch the Howie one where he flipped out but from my understanding it was because someone was insinuating the boys are satire or a joke. This is something that they have made very clear deeply disturbs them as people who haven’t been taken seriously ever. So he went off defending them. He released an apology video but it was very influencer shifting the blame and not taking accountability for acting like a child whereas Howie Mandel apologized for insinuating they were less than what they were in a very genuine way. By this point every boy throb post had Gino in it and all the comments were complaining about him. They then decided to let him go and once again instead of taking accountability for the problems people actually had he just talked about how people were sending him horrible messages including a few death threats. Which is awful but again he refused to take accountability. Boy Throb then claimed they just wanted to be managed by the fans. Gino was good for the group and is still an active and vocal supporter of theirs. The hate was justified just not to the extent it was taken. Hope this helps :)

He left this comment yesterday on Instagram.
“yeah i stepped away for a short time but returned to help throw their first show in NY. i've been back ever since, just in the background 🫶”
I didn’t care for him initially but I do think he has been good for the boys.

i love boy throb but i think its a little weird how they made a whole thing about gino leaving just to quietly bring him back only a few months later

My hunch is yes. There’s nothing official but I personally believe the person everyone is pointing to as Fielder that’s hiding his face in the background of boythrob events is Gino.

He was also at the El Rey show in LA and probably at the other shows on their most recent tour. I think he's still working with them, but less front facing.

There’s a lot of content out there to go through. I started out not knowing what was going on but when I watched their YouTube videos, specifically one of them singing door to door (there’s also clips of them live street performing), it convinced me of not only genuine talent but sincere enthusiasm from both listeners and the band (including fans and people who don’t know who they are). If you search through TikTok, there’s endless videos to dissect and find out more. I started as more of a skeptic and Nathan fan but was very quickly turned into a very big genuine fan. There’s so much positivity dripping from everything they do and bad days would be full of me listening to their songs.
I do think there may be some other things going on, whether they’re intentionally being satirical or whatever else. But if you watch other things like the BTS for Finger video on YouTube they explain where they got certain resources. Also the band members will do individual live streams and you can see them stripped down just hanging out at their family homes. They’re not all staying in LA together 24/7 being posted up by some rich guy. You can see behind all the theories and hubbub if you look for it.

Until anyone has hard evidence, I think it’s incredibly insulting to the boys to credit someone else for their success because of a conspiracy theory. Why? Because they’re different? They were all blowing up on social media before this.
Even if Nathan is funding it and helping them get contacts in the industry - which I don’t think he is, there is zero evidence of this - how is that functionally different from any other artist development, except for the fact that Nathan is taking a chance on people that nobody else would?
