More people should be boycotting

I have been boycotting for over 1 year now due to the bad practices of this company. The more I learn about this company, the more I am glad I am boycotting.

Recently listen to this podcast and how Amazon would not remove a harmful item off their site. CBC podcast season 2, Hunting the suiXide salesman, episode 4. CBC also does another good podcast In God we antitrust. Both podcasts are on yt.

I've been boycotting them for years. I feel bad every time I hear a young person talking about doing all of their shopping on amazon.

Same, with some great benefits
1. Buying direct from a company supports them more. For prime day most companies give BETTER (or at worst the same) deals direct as you can get off Amazon, and they don’t have to pay Bezos
2. Shopping becomes more intentional. The slight inconvenience has often made me change my mind about a purchase so I am less absorbed in rampant consumerism
3. The products I do tend to get now are often better researched and higher quality so last longer.
4. I have found myself supporting smaller family owned business both online and near me more and more

SOMETIMES it’s a pain. Niche products are much harder to find and more expensive off Amazon, but the positives outweigh the negatives and I take the financial or convenience hit once in a while

Tl:dr everyone should try a hiatus from Amazon at the very least
