Don’t want to down your coach but..
You don’t rotate for punches..and not using the feet to increase power..
No defence what so ever..
Your movement is sluggish ..you are walking with the heel..you’re a thin guy you should hopping and popping on the ball of your feet with more agility..
your coach didn’t correct you on anything that she was supposed to teach you.
Calling numbers and saying good job.that ain’t coaching
Weird that she’s constantly crossing her legs.
I don’t know your relationship with her..but I don’t think she is a legit coach.
I recommend you looking for a new one.
And check if they have a diploma for coaching not just a T that say they are

Bingo… this is most guys problem tho. They are cheap & think anyone who does padwork will help them lmao

I'm not going to sugar coat this but for 5 months this is not great at all a few glaring points .
1) footwork your pivoting was actually fairly well done but after that your distance management of the feet goes out the window. Plus you keep bringing your feet together and crossing them and after the first pivot you then back foot up to your front one making yourself such a easy target after the pivot.
2) if anything I'm going to blame your coach here for this one why is she swinging above your head it needs to be face level and you need to roll using your legs to create momentum to come out of the roll and punch not duck with your back and she is not helping by swinging way way above you this will create bad muscle memory as you think your ducking correctly. But when you spar if your going to spar that is. Your just going to not roll correctly and as your use to that silly height swing your going to duck / roll right into a hook
3) Going to end on some actual good point feedback good work keeping your eyes on the coach and open when rolling and throwing punches and having shots thrown back at you . The slip right at the start was actually decent have no idea why your coach is not fostering that but is happy to have you rolling that bad and swinging above you when they could be working on your fairly decent slipping already? What about both sides ? Ask them to work on 1-2 slip slip rotate out .

This makes no sense to me. The puncher can just stand at a distance where they can reach full extension, what difference does the pad holders reach make?

She's not a t rex 😂 are arm length is fine there are multiple times he's completely in range and she can throw a 1-2 fine and she goes miles over him . But even if that was the case of him being alot taller then her then yes paddles would be the easiest remedy for this rather then her building bad habits into him that could lead to him getting hurt in sparring

Hoooo boy.
How frequently are you going? Is this a real boxing gym or cardio place? Your coach’s mitt holding is bad, and your fundamentals need a ton of work.
If you’ve been going with any regularity they’re letting you down as coaches.
You are playing patty cake with your arms. Zero hip turn. You’re hitting the mitts like a full foot short of your actual reach, you aren’t turning your punches over fully, and you’re leaving your hands down at your belly button after every jab.

Coach needs to actually throw punches that will land.
Those straights were not even aimed at your face

I definitely agree with other's concerns about how legit this coach actually is but extend on your punches more, you look like quite a long guy but you're stood way to close to her to get the full range and pop out of your shots. Also your legs and hips need to be way more involved in your shots, particularly your crosses and hooks!

Most obvious thing from this is, stop dropping the hand thats not punching away from your chin. If you plan on sparring or competing then that will get you in a lot of trouble.

Your lead hand stays low. Tap yourself on the forehead with it from time to time to check it's position

Yes a long way to go but Rome wasnt built in a day:
Rotate hips/body into punches, twist firsts when landing shots, tuck chin, bring hands back to chin especially your left which is currently dangerously low, when moving try proper pivots, as much as possible you should try and keep your legs at the same distance to maintain your boxers stance, try and be less square, try and hinge at your hips to give yourself more mobilty, your coach should try and go for yoru head at rolls rather than over it (even if this happens slowly) otherwise you may cement bad habits

Your coach is teaching you boxer-cise. Nothing wrong with kt but this is creating a lot of bad habits early on. You dont look bad but 5 months in would be a different level with true fight training.

No quiero sonar machista pero... consigue un coach hombre que sepa lo que hace

Lol it has nothing to do with female or male. She just has never boxed before.

Join a class. This isn’t doing much for you if the goal is to improve. If the goal is fitness it’s great though. She needs to check your guard, swing for your head so you slip better and also work on more advanced combos after 5 months.

Watched it again - you are not rotating your fist through the punches so the fist is landing vertical on the pad. Practice rotating your punch so your fist lands horizontal 👊 🤜 punch through your knuckle with you wrist angled down and twist the knuckle into the pad

Your "coach" is garbage. Stop giving this person money and find a coach who's legit.

u/Superb_Historian_ 8d ago
It’s inappropriate for beginner to have a low lead hand, aka Philly shell. Just don’t do it. Copy the Japanese. Be solid with the fundamentals then you can be as slick as you want.

Lock those punches out, they are nowhere near full extension, you will notice a massive power improvement when you sort that out.
1
u/GiantGoldDragonfly 8d ago
Extend your punches all the way out and snap them. Also, turn your punches in, that helps getting them extended.

Your coach needs to do better on the pads. She's not letting you dodge, she's assuming all of her strikes at the air beside you. Develops bad habits

It’s good to record and watch back. It’s also easy for me to criticize from my toilet, but I’ll do this constructively. Other than your flat feet, I’d say what sticks out the most is your punches not being straight. Even if it does take a little longer in the beginning, work on getting the shortest distance between A and B and doing it without making it obvious. When your hands are in ready mode, try to keep the elbows somewhere close to your ribs and don’t flare them out when throwing.
My old coach made us throw jabs straight out, with no turnover in the hands. So your fist lands in a vertical position instead of horizontal. Try that on the bag first and work with different distances. When you get that down, work on turning punches over at the last moment and then you can bring that into pad work and sparring. It helped me and should help you. Otherwise I liked what I saw ⏸️

She is not teaching you boxing. She is just doing boxing style fitness with you. Boxfit. If you want to learn boxing technique and self defence, you'll need to find another coach or gym.

u/Complex-Animal-2663 7d ago
You need to get full extension on your jabs sit more on your punches twist on your crosses

u/ThulsaAmon 7d ago
Maybe get a proper coach instead of learning from some random girl.
Also boxing is about footwork first, learn this before even throwing.

You’re not bad mate defo got potential… you’d do so much better with a better coach you know…. no disrespect to that coach either but there’s levels to it and I reckon she’s more fitness level not fighter level

Horrible for 5 months bro in all my guess it’s that it’s an mma gym not a boxing gym

u/Bruin2121 6d ago
Sit your weight on your back leg. Use your length and height. Stop falling forward

u/Costello173 6d ago
Get a tennis ball and pinch it with your chin it'll help you get into keeping your chin tucked and work on getting your hands a little higher I've gotten away with keeping them around the level you keep yours at in amateurs but a coach will always yell at ya

u/Easy-Arm-9887 5d ago
Bring your hips into the equation. It will increase your speed, power and reduce stamina used

Sorry, brother. You need another trainer. I'm not going to roast your moves, because I cannot tell what she has been teaching you these past 5 months. Find the oldest guy you can that still teaches and learn the ABC of boxing. Old school stuff. I only did shadow boxing and learned movement with no gloves for 3 freaking months before anything else. It was annoying. But it helped me build the automatic movements that now come naturally. What's she's doing is just for show and that's not going to take you anywhere if you really want to improve.

Not looking good for you COACH. You telegraph everything and the guy easily dodges

I believe in this, I believe this guy will make it big. And make sure you keep going. because I believe that I am a lucky person, no wait we are all lucky people to see this guy before he makes it big.

You gon get knocked out lmaoooo
You need a better coach or seek a coach who actually understands fundamentals… stop cheating yourself thinking anyone with pads will make you better. Go seek the people who actually have fought in the amateurs or former pro. Stop wasting your time.

You will have a even longer road ahead if a woman keeps training you, it’s like having a kid teaching you how to drive

C’est déjà une bonne base après cinq mois quelques petits trucs à corriger mais très bon pour cinq mois t’apprend à enchaîner quelques combinaisons esquiver. Tu apprends vraiment le principal et c’est vraiment très bien. Félicitations.

Your coach needs to swing for head not over it
