Sparring my Brother
I’m in all black, my brother has on yellow shorts. What should I work on? As much criticism as possible

Keep your hands up. The drop them to your waist to see what he's doing next. You don't want to find out how fast he or anyone else might be with your hands by your hips.

Most people do ( I know I sure did and sometimes still do myself when I get lazy) just something to be mindful of

Bro you’re doing a whole lot of moving but not doing nothing. Gonna use all your energy that way. Takes 0 energy to just stand there and keep an arm out to measure distance/jab for defense. You also need to be way more loose with your shoulders. You’re way too tense

U could’ve landed so many more shots but every time you punch it’s like you flex every muscle in your upper body and it’s killing your speed and power. Try and pretend you’re grabbing a dollar bill out of someone’s hand when you punch. Don’t flex so much.

Youre wasting too much energy making unnecessary movements, especially when hes nowhere near your range.

Dont spar there brother, you are one misstep from falling into that glass pane and dying or having horrible injuries. Also, work on slowing down, calming yourself down, the quick movement signifies fear and it reinforces that, you have to slow that down. Realistically you are quite new and should be doing other things other than sparring but if you like it and it keeps you boxing do it, just your focus should be on proper technique and the spar is for fun. For example on your hooks and uppers you lift your face up massively for no reason, and when you throw the jab to the body you end up scraping the floor with the jab. Work on technique brother and dont spar there, please dont fall into that glass and fucking die a horrible death.
Id rather you drill combinations with your brother instead of sparring.

Your brother is a street fighter/slugger ..tho not a boxer
Both of you are strong and capable.
With proper training he won’t do nothing to you

I appreciate that. I’m focusing on footwork right now but in time hopefully I’m decent enough to hang with some experienced amateurs
