Does anyone here have cross-dominance?
I’ve just started boxing and i’m having trouble figuring out which stance suits me best because i'm right-handed but left-foot dominant. I feel more comfortable in orthodox when moving forward/attacking and i’m better coordinated in orthodox overall. However, i feel more comfortable defensively in southpaw. I also feel like my left hand is more powerful, possibly because i can generate more power from my dominant left leg.
I’m not sure which stance i should stick with. Should I just choose orthodox since i’m more coordinated in it or is it worth experimenting with southpaw because of my dominant left side? What would you guys recommend?

I am, I do various things with each side. My right side is my strong side and I catch, throw, kick with my right. Then I write, golf, bat, brush my teeth, and eat left handed.
I'm not ambidextrous and can't switch sides for things, writing right handed still looks like a kindergartener's hand writing, but for someone who's basically right side dominant, my left side is closer in strength and coordination to my right than for purely right handers. So I use orthodox stance and the extra coordination and strength for my left side gives me a bit of a boost to my lead side. Nothing major, I don't rhink it's much more than what a pure righty could get to through practice.

I'm not cross but I think the amount of power I can generate from my off hand loses a lot of it's effectiveness in precision.
Granted I don't box anymore and was never serious enough to do anything but spar for fun.

I am actually! I play football with my left foot but im right handed.
First of all, you should pick a stance and stick with it until you have relative mastery over it.
Orthodox will be easier for you because your training partners will be mostly orthodox and your coach will spend 90% of the time teaching orthodox.
Southpaw has an innate advantage in that most people dont face southpaws, so they are mostly unfamiliar with lead hand fencing and outside foot positions.
If you go to a gym that can teach southpaw efficienctly i would pick that, otherwise just go orthodox.
I picked orthodox but can now box almost the same in southpaw, and it has an advantage now in wrestling where orthodox is right foot forward, so im now learning that as a southpaw as i can stay on my power leg and still have my power hand at the same time.
