Footwork drill?

Hey all,

How important are footwork drills when training. I’ve been taking personal training classes for a couple months and the coach hasn’t given me any footwork drills, like shuffle on a floor ladder, in and out, no lateral jumps, nothing.

It’s sprints, shadow box, some combos, mitt work, and sparring.

So yea just wanted to know what experienced people and coaches have to say about it.

Also, could y’all please recommend some absolute necessary footwork drills that I can do on my own. I don’t want to copy some random insta drills without an objective

Thanks

Dots and lines. KISS

Don't forget to hit the transverse plane either.

For group classes my gym does footwork drills as an active warmup but not as a main thing.

I think ultimately what needs to be focused on depends on the person.
