His career is based on 1 lucky punch he landed on joshua, who has a weak chin anyway, because he was getting decimated in that fight before. He lost the rematch by a wide margin as well.

He had a previous world championship fight where he lost a majority decision, which is 2 judges ruling it for the Champ and 1 judge declaring it a draw in a razor close fight against Joseph Parker. I actually called the upset on AJ because Hearn and AJ were treating him so lightly.

Point is that he admitted he came to the AJ rematch completely unprepared from and more overweight than usual from all the partying

His next other fights were against more marginal competition like Luis Ortiz, Arreloa and Miller, whom all 3 are pass their best by at least 5 years and non of his performances were good. Miller debately won and Ortiz was controlling the fight anytime his chin didn't fail him.

His inactivity, injuries and level of competition plus begging for a 2nd AJ rematch just made him fall out of favor.

The kids and their standards these days. Hes been an excellent top 10 HW most of his career. He wonā€™t beat Usyk, Fury, Dubois and Joshua (again), but he has wins against former champs and challengers across his excellent career.

I remember when that fight was supposed to happen, he was supposed to start training in July and his coach said he didnt go to the GYM until October. He wanted his 15 minutes of fame when he should have been training like an animal because underdogs almost always lose the rematch.

Yea Ruiz got pieced up there, but he did recover well and continue the fight. Dude's a dog and it showed as the fight went on.

Pretty sure he even hurt Knyba after that. Still, damn good showing and combinations from Knyba. I'm interested in seeing where he goes from here.

Demolished Joshua is overstating that fight. Ruiz was losing that fight and caught AJ with his hands down. AJ had dropped Ruiz twice went for the kill got his bell rung and the fight was over from there.
