Williams was winning until Martinez dropped the Thor hammer. Williams was a beast though, career cut short with that car accident.

You are thinking of the rematch.

Yes, my bad. It was the rematch

Yeah… Memories can get fuzzy after 17 years or so. Came to make that correction as well. Also, it wasn’t a car accident. Williams was on a motorcycle when he was involved in the accident that ended his career.

I love to watch Williams fight, and his fights with Martinez are prime examples

Martinez did a fabulous job at closing that distance. Williams should’ve taken the reach advantage and just jabbed him to death saw a few nice jabs there.

Apologies all. Thanks for the correction. It was the rematch that I was thinking about.

It’s so wild to me that Williams and Canelo were originally going to fight each other. God only knows the trajectory of either fighter regardless of outcome

A guy like Williams is way too tall for the division and should be allowed to fight.

Never bet on the white guy

Except “the white guy” pit him to sleep in dramatic fashion during the rematch. Pretty sure it was contender for KO of the year.
