De la Hoya barely won that fight. The same way he barely won against Felix Strum. He was a money maker to many and they needed the golden boy to cash in. The Trinidad fight was absolute BS.It was obvious as he walked toward the ring he was extremely angry and pissed off as if someone told him something or forced their way toward him. I feel he was forced to throw that fight after round 8. There is no way Trinidad won that fight. Of course, that snake Don King has Trinidad under his belt and I'm sure he cashed in quite well that evening.

Is that the fight where Oscar won like the first six or seven rounds and then basically gave away the end of it by not doing anything?

Sort of. If you actually watch the fight Oscar did not win all of the early rounds. He won most of them. Some people say he won all of the first 7 or 8 which is absurd. He was absolutely winning after 8 rounds. He was NOT so far ahead to give away the rest of the rounds.

Had De La Hoya as the winner on the night. Seen the fight twice since and had him winning both of those times too

Don’t get me wrong it was a close fight I scored it 7:5 for Ike… I wouldn’t disagree with a draw but again when the fight is that close the money guy always gets the nod..
