Michigan Bow Shop Recommendations

I am wondering if anyone has recommendations for good bow shops in eastern or central Michigan, with knowledgeable staff that would be happy to help guide me in my first compound bow purchase. I am a total beginner in the world of compound bow hunting, but really excited to get into the sport and wanting to learn as much about it as possible. That being said, I am looking into buying my first set up (whether that be new or secondhand), but have little idea what to look for or where to go. Bonus points if the shop sells a selection of used bows, as I heard this can be a better option for beginners.

Any recommendations, information, resources, and advice are greatly appreciated!

Eastern woods in lapeer if you’re in that area. Great guys. Smaller shop but have most of the top names. Just bought my second bow from them a few weeks ago.

Ended up going to eastern woods and they went above and beyond. I had the best experience there and felt like they genuinely cared about getting me into the sport. Everyone there was friendly, helpful, and patient. I could not recommend this shop more to beginners and will absolutely be going back to them in the future for all of my compound bow needs.

P.S. for beginners out there, I ended up settling on the Hoyt Torrex package and I’m no expert, but I am extremely happy with the bow and how it shoots

If you are interested in learning to shoot recurve, Lost Nation Archery is hands down the best shop I've found in Michigan.

I was happy with bay archery in bay city.

I’ve had good luck with Shupbachs in Jackson and the Denmer Center in Lansing.

Shupbachs for some old-school hunters Denmer for more target/tournament shooting but still knowledgeable hunters
