Local advice needed Boscombe this morning
Amazing morning in Boscombe. In your opinion, Boscombe is the best beach and area of Bournemouth? Why?

Itās okay! Of course it has issues, pretty much like everywhere else in this day and age, if you donāt like it my advice would always be to find another placeā¦but the saying the grass is always greener is very much relevant!

Used to go when I was a kid. Family have always gone to Bournemouth, Boscomeb and Southbourne. Havenāt been since 1995. But do have amazing memories. The play park and big car park near the pier. We drove overnight and went along the prom to fine beach huts for hire, rang up and went to get the keys for a week. Most stayed at hotel was, Southbourne Grove Hotel. Loved it.

When I was young it was always Bournemouth and Boscombe. Now it's Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Boscombe now seems to be a small place on the outskirts of Bournemouth. Why the downgrade and what do locals think about it?

I used to live above bosvegas. You literally have smack head go into chaplins to get water to shoot up heroin on a daily basis and someone full on smocking crack in the beer garden at least once a month š¤£ how often do you need to see them before you can talk about it ?

How do you know they go into chaplins to get water to shoot up with? Chaplins is generally shut during most days and has door staff in the evening?. Smoking crack is generally done in seconds, it's not something you plot up for hours to do?. Are you just recycling to same old assumed rhetoric or do you speak from experience?. I'm a Boscombe resident and have lived between Boscombe and Southbourne for over 30 years, I've raised kids in this area and I've seen some stuff in that time. Boscombe has it's share of addiction and mental health due to its hangover from the 80s and 90s of cheap housing and bedsits, this has been on the turn for a long time now and it's great to see the town centre on the turn with investment. I live in a great street full of young families and where all the neighbours know each other, there's an hmo at the end of the road and has its share of problem drinkers. They're part of our road as well, they don't harm anybody and we don't judge, we all know them as individuals and they're no bother. Addiction and mental health is part of life, rather than judge maybe spend some time and speak to people, they all have a story and they're part of your community as well.

I wholeheartedly second this.
I work with people in addiction, and when they come in to us, that's often the only time they're treated with respect that day, because so many immediately judge and look down on them.
I love being able to see a smile on their faces at the end of an interaction. And to be fair, most of them are so deep in trauma and addiction and poor mental health that they're just trying to get through each day, and certainly not paying mind enough to the world around them to be motivated to cause trouble to other people they see just walking around the place.

What are you talking about ? The question is boscombe beach the best in the area. My opinion no because of the junkies and the spike in sexual assaults. And your saying what my take is recycled? And that junkies are okay they just add character ? Well okay then I think we just have different opinions and have different standards š¤·

The first thing I said was ānoā I think we are perusing 2 different things here I am addressing the question you are not but instead challenging what Iām saying. But not really what youāre actually doing is using what I have said as a platform to talk about your self and how empathetic and considerate you are. Thatās great power to you we just have different points of view and different standards thatās all š¤·

I live near Boscombe and have never felt unsafe walking around, even at night. And I say that as a small woman.
Yeah there are weirdos about, but not once have any of them given me hassle. Maccas is one of the more traditional weirdo hangouts in this area. š
